Parking light issue

Post by gold_xero »

My right front parking light doesn't come on with the fog light or when the switch is put to parking lights. The only time it comes on is with the headlights. I was wondering if grounded it right to the body if it would solve this issue.

thanks

I suspect you have a bad fog light switch unit. Costs about $103 for a new one. That switch would explain no light while your light switch on the stalk lights it up.

My '05 foglights were burning out faster than a rear ended Pinto, so I'm replacing that switch per the factory manual's suggestion. When all else fails, read the destructions. LOL.

You should PM Andrew (harofreak00) and see if he has a used switched. MUCH cheaper than $105 for new.

I think the fog lights burning out is a common problem on the '04 & '05 SLE/GXP body styles. From what I've read, I don't think replacing a switch will fix it!
