Adding a power port

Post by ckf102 »

Has anyone added a new power port for a sat radio or anything like that? I mounted my sat radio on the dash and would like to add a second power port under the pass side of the dash so I can hide the wire for it. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!!!!

You can find another one at most parts stores, and then wiring it is pretty simple. I just tapped into the wires for my lighter socket. Then find a place where you want the plug, and drill a hole the size of the new socket and it should go right in. The hardest part will be running the wires. (I'm not too familiar with the 00+ interior and where the plug is, but my 96 was a piece of cake) I can now have my radar detector, my gps, and my phone charging all at the same time.
