Will it be worth it?

Talk about modifications, or anything else associated with performance enhancements. Have a new idea for performance/reliability? Post it here. No idea is stupid! (please use Detailing and Appearance for cosmetic ideas)

Will it be worth it?

Post by Kitt99 »

I have a 99 Bonnie SE, and I was wondering if the Intense FWI will be worth it. I'm sure I will get a little better gas mileage, but other than that anything else? I doubt I will feel and difference in performance, but will I feel more throttle response if I get on her?

You will gain throttle response, some mileage, and an awesome sound. The sound is love it or hate it, I like it though. :)

IMO, yes, it will be worth it.

But make sure you get the 3" tubing and not the 3.5" that the boosted cars use.

They both have the same throttle body inlet diameter. The 3.5" FWI will be fine, and marketed to all 3800's, N/A or S/C. It's not like exhaust where the diameter has a massive affect on torque, etc.

I did it. Definitely better throttle response and a small bump in gas mileage (maybe a 10 % increase). No regrets here.

You'll love it, just loud on start up, but no regrets.

This is the post on how I did my set up:
