Update of the progress. The left side is allmost finished. The last thing I did today was to spray it black & tomorow I will sand it to find the low spots, hopfully nothing major to fix. then Ill start on the other side. But here are the pic I got.
I used bondo on top of the fiberglas to help me sand it smooth.
Image
I gave it 3 layers of bondo. pictures are of the second time.
Image
Image
& here with the black primer. starting to look like something.
Image
Image
After I finish the scoop, & before I glue it to the hood. I will take it to my friend Raymond & se how mush he charges me to make a mold out of it. That way I can make more of it. In case anyone wants one.

Awesome man, simply awesome. I cringe when I look at the last pic though. Your TA has stuff sitting all over it! :beating:

The Trans Am is the next project, & it will be repainted, so Im not to conserned about it for the moment. & to tell you the truth Ive been using the Bonneville to lern how to do bodywork, so that I can fix the TA myself.

Back to the topic, both sides are done, & now I just need to finish the back, & the front.
Starting to apply bondo to the right side
Image
After 2 layers of bondo, a lot of sanding, & starting to fix the corners.
Image
Another picture of the back of the hood. Notice how the wipers are hidden under there.
Image
& with some black primer.

No way man, wipers on... turn off key when they are reachable.
That scoop looks bad ass on your Bonneville. I don't think it would look as good on my car though.

update on the hood.
I re-tough how the grill was goin to stay in place & decided I needed a bottom part.
Image
then I added some more left-over pieces to back of the opening.
Image
after it dryes I will cut an opening, but leave an dedge of about 1/4 of an inch all around to attach the grill to it.

Here are the pictures of how the car looks right now.
Image
this is the fiberglass piece that goes on top of the hood.
Image
& this is whats under the scoop. hopefully those flaps will trap the incoming air & push it towards the engine.
Image
a view of the roof. or whats left of it.
Image
close up.
Image
I never took pictures of the trunk before the cleaning, but it was filled with trash all the way to the top. & the spare tire was under water.
Image
all of the wheel wells were cleaned, some rust spots where fixed, & everything was painted, the a-arms, springs swaybars & brakes.
Image
Image
& a picture with the SLE.

I didn't know you had plans for the roof. Going to do a massive sunroof?

Incredible work as always. I am most impressed at your ability to think outside the box. Usually everyone just copies what they see that others have done but not you.

the roof is gona have a black canvas top, that will retract acordion-like to the back.
the plans that I have at this moment for the car, is to make it a rat rod. all painted flat black.
but that might change.

I think your work is fantastic, it looks like you pay attention to detail which is definately what is needed in work like this ( see my bonne )

But to be completely honest I'm not too sure I'm fully liking the look of that scoop, but again your craftsmanship is great! Keep up the good work
