Xrob, all the speakers are powered off the bose amp, you have the front channel, rear channel, and sub channel

It should yes, though the rears probably will be much quieter then the rest of the system

Meaning the volume output would be less than the other speakers, making them not as loud.xrob wrote:What does rears quieter mean?swampthing wrote:It should yes, though the rears probably will be much quieter then the rest of the system

Re: 2000-02 Bose System Front Speakers
I'm not sure why you would want to run the front speakers off the same amp as the speakers you are running at the rear deck...from what I understand, the monsoon/bose amps run at around 40 watts rms, most amps you replace that with or add too can only run at 65 rms max, which is really only needed if you are trying to compete in car-fi competitions because you have to spend a lot of money to get speakers that will handle that power. All of this will be irrelevant if you don't have the monsoon amp however, but its hard to tell what model of car you have based on your year and trim described. But to answer your question if you do have a factory amp and are running only some of your speakers instead of all of them off of a different amp, you system will not run as it should because you will be running different amps to your front tweeters and rear door speakers, so no, it wont sound smooth and clear, there will just be music and sound thrown at different volumes at different places of the car.

Tyler, where do you get your numbers, when I called bose they told me 35 watts but they couldn't guess whether it was rms or peak the specs didn't say.
And that 65 watt thing makes no sense, there is absolutely no way of telling what his aftermarket amp is without him giving us a model

Re: 2000-02 Bose System Front Speakers
I had read that the monsoon amp was right around 37 watts rms in a spec article awhile back, I've tried searching for it but I remember the link was posted on a forum and I cant seem to find it now, but it should be obvious that it would be 35 rms peak for the Bose amp...
65 watts rms- I was trying to answer his question as to if everything would sound good/clear/whatever referring to replacing the factory amp with an aftermarket amp that would be running the component/door speakers...most aftermarket amps that people buy push right around 50-65 watts rms; those interested in car-fi competitions however usually get amps that can push their speakers of up to 120 rms. If he is running those 6x9's off a separate amp than the factory one his new amp is more than likely louder than the factory one, which would mean his 6x9s would be louder than the rest of his speakers in the car at any given time, but if he is running everything off one amp then it would be fine.

Re: 2000-02 Bose System Front Speakers
Ok. i replace my front door bose speakers with aftermarkets and i don't see a difference in sound. How do i remove the fronts off the factory amp so i can get full power. I don't want to amp them at this time and how can i tell if i wired them correctly. i followed the same scheme as the tweeters wires into the connector and outbound leading into a the harness. is this correct?
