I would like to have a toy like that, my Geo storm guess was a semi educated guess since they have a lotus designed chassis

After some personal delays on the seller's side, I picked it up yesterday, finally! Driving it in traffic when you're not used to a manual transmission was pretty interesting :P

In the next little while I'll have to hunt for lowering springs for the front (or a better set for all four corners, depending on what I find) since there's one broken coil on the stock springs on the driver's side; and I have to check that the rear shocks are doing okay with the lowering springs that are already there.

Re-hanging it is one of the items on the list #-o Also with a 1.5L, 92hp SOHC 16-valve... who needs VTEC!

I filled it up yesterday too... $39 went into the tank. A typical GXP fill is $79. :eek2:

In theory, the wagon may be a better handling car than the hatchback or coupe. The extra weight in back gets the distribution a little closer to balanced, but it's not really high enough to affect roll center. You definitely lose some acceleration, but for a tight course it'd be worth the trade.

Plus wagons are cooler, so there.

A hatch will handle better because it's lighter, they're so sorted out for handling/AutoX that it's not an issue.

To everyone making jabs at it, they don't know how quick these little buggers are with some proper tires! NOT in a straight line mind you! Lol

But it is cute how little the tires are ;)

Yeah, this car was not purchased with power or speed in mind, at all. That's what the Bonneville is for. Its strengths will lie in driving downtown, 30+mpg city, and autocross. Weight is about 2300lbs, 100-200 more than a hatchback.

Tires on there right now are 175/70/13, currently looking for a better set of winter tires. Summer will see 195/50/15 Yokohama S.drives on these rims:

Few updates: Been driving around all week and am getting better at driving manual. No more stalls! It's still very nice to hop back into the Bonneville and cruise down the highway. They're two completely different experiences - go-kart and couch. Which vehicle I choose depends on where I'm going.

Fixed the exhaust :P

Putting together the components needed to redo the suspension. Function & Form Type 1 Coilovers:
Image

10kg/mm spring rate in front, 6kg/mm out back. Streetable, yet stiff. And of course, full camber kits (upper control arms, etc) and proper alignment will be maintained. This car won't be slammed, but it'll be lowered enough to look good and still make a difference in handling. I don't think most here realize that the suspension layout on these Civics is the most favourable for handling - in later years Honda went to MacPherson struts, which can't hold a candle to the double wishbones.

Zoro Muffler in Stoney Creek. I usually go to the Mississauga location (along Dundas, east of Cawthra) but for now, the car lives with me at school so Stoney Creek is closer.

Though I tire of the endless Civic coupes and sedans, this sparks my interest. That's going to look really cool with those new wheels & springs on it. I kind of have a soft spot for cool little wagons. Reminds me of some of the first crossovers that were from that period that were ahead of their time - the Colt Vista, Toyota Tercel etc., and the late 80's AWD Pontiac 6000, MItsubishi Galant VR4, Toyota Camry, Ford Tempo, etc. Now people think little crossover wagons and AWD cars are something they just invented! I believe Rutledge Wood from Top Gear owns an 80's Civic Wagon that he's doing a drivetrain swap in.

Very cool and practical ride - I like it!
