New Guy from Georgia

Post by camaroman »

Decided to stop snooping and join the fun...
Bought the Bonne to help my brother out, he needed the cash and I did NOT need another car to insure,
but it has been a fun little ride so far, Gotta fix the a/c before summer. Any tips??

Welcome to the club, somebody might chime in about the A/C. Otherwise just start a new post in the 1992-1999 section of the forum.

Sure would like photos of your ride.

As far as the A/C goes, NAPA has a complete kit to do that. The kit has, IIRC, compressor, drier, flush, oil and R134. Their prices are almost always way less than everyone else and you get a 1 year warranty if you buy the kit. The kit typically runs just a few dollars more than just the compressor somewhere else. - BC

Right now photos might include the car in flames...
stranded my son before a date and he is not happy...
I believe from a little research here that I have a VATS
issue.

I will try to take some photos Before/After style...

Just a few hours ago scored a set of sse 16" Aluminum
5 spokes on ebay for 225.00 shipped. Gonna ditch the steelies and plastic hub caps and
give Bonnie a nice new set of shoes of the T/A Touring style.

Here is a link to my wheels and their source...
Maybe some clear corners
Thanks for the a/c tip!

1oldman I had her running. It was just dirty battery cables... THEN I got prideful and gave it a bath.
Musta shocked it cause I was cleaning some of the teenager crud out of the door pockets and wiping the dash
when i just kinda died. I fear the engine gave up the ghost. It turns over but will not crank....

I personally doubt the engine crapped out on you. Could be a lot of things, my first guess is the ICM (ignitor). Check and see if you're getting spark. Borrow or buy a Lisle spark tester light. It plugs in between your ignition coil and spark plug. If it lights up, you have spark. They run about $7 - $10. There are much more knowledgeable members than I that will be able to give you the help you really need. I hope you get it running soon and not have to spend a ton of money. Congratulations on the wheels. Great find! - BC
