is there any way u can fix chromes once the chrome starts flaking off..tire guy said no .. i could have them recoated but it cost me alot off money he said i would be better of buying new ones. i have a small leak on my front around the rim he said wasnt repairable.i bought my bonnie with the arelli rims on . i live in mich ,salt tore them up,most of the damage was done before i bought the car. my friend takes theirs off in the winter...love my rims!! :helpsmilie: Image

IMO, i don't like them, but it is your car, so whatever makes you happy. IMO, just get new ones, and get some cheapies or steelies for the winter, and some snow tires, and put some good summer tires on the good rims. Just my $.02

first of all.. im soooo very sorry about your car..glad your ok!!thanks for the input ..just keep putting air in it till i can afford new rims have no clue what to put on her!! affordable and nice hard to find..piece a crap rims easy!!lol by the way love people who are honest!!

Take the whhels to a tire shop. Dismount the tires. Wire brush the flaking chrome from the bead of the wheels. Apply bead sealer and remount the tires. It should last till you get the $4 for new wheels.

If you want a more permanent solution, sand and refinish the bead area with something like POR-15 paint. That should be a pretty permanent fix.
