Thinking about changing SSEi trim to regular trim
I`m looking to buy another SSEi but I never liked the cladding and bumpers. I know many say I`m crazy but I like the slick smooth look. If I do get another SSEi I`ll definately be looking to trade the body panels and bumpers for a non SSEi versions.

You are doing the opposite from what i am doing. Bumpers will bolt up but you will need the reinforcement and the brackets and the cladding will need to be done with trim adhesive. You will also need to make cutouts in the bumper for the exhaust tips.

It`s a 2000 body style. I`m hoping it can be a easy swap without paint work. Painting the panels I can understand but if I have to paint the doors then I might not do it.

SE's have ribbing stamped into the doors. If you want smooth, go for the GXP or 05 SLE.

Re: Thinking about changing SSEi trim to regular trim
All Bonnevilles have the ribbing in the doors. It's just that all models but the SE's got trim that covered it up, whereas SE's have trim that runs over the top of it, just to cover the holes in the doors.

I`d rather have this look than the SSEi look.

To each their own! If that's what you want and you're willing to put in the work, then I say go for it. It would definitely be a sleeper.

I don`t mind the ribs, it`s the bulkiness I don`t like on the SSEi. It seems the side pieces in between the wheels look to be flared out and stick out further.

Indeed to each his own. I hate how the SE's look. I wonder how the GXP side cladding and rockers would look with the SSEi bumpers...
