03 Bonneville SSEI

Post by zvega88 »

So my bonneville ssei is giving me this weird problem. In the morning when i start the car and i put it in reverse it kinda takes few seconds to change gears from parking to reverse. I notice that if i go on reverse and i press the gas it takes few seconds and then it kicks in reverse. Sometimes it changes gears really strong but it runs normal. Why is the car taken few seconds changing gears and why sometimes when changes gear kicks really hard the engine?

How many miles are on the car? How is/has it been driven? You definitely do not want to wait too long to have that checked because any delay when putting a vehicle in gear is not the best sign in the world. IJS #-o I had a problem like this twice. First it was my transmission but after the delays it went out while in route to class and I was fortunate to be within the warranty so it was replaced at no charge. The second time was 2 months later my torque converter went bad. Would start, delay after putting in gear, sometimes it would kick, and then it just didn't move. Its possible it could have been the same torque converter :bhuh: Hopefully someone will be able to confirm though, but your symptoms sound very familar and you may want to stop in at a transmission shop.

What is the condition of the fluid (color, smell burnt)? Do you know if it has ever had the filter replaced?
