Cut factory Harness
My factory radio went out so looked to replace it and the wires was cut and put back together. Remind you the front and right and left speakers are out, and when i turn the key back for the radio the car shuts off its a 94 bonneville. any help with the rewiring colors. Need to get the speakers on and the radio on when the key is turned back

Re: Cut factory Harness

You need a voltmeter to verify which of the same color wires are which.
The +12v yellow ignition wire will have +12v when key on
The illumination wire will have +12v when the dash lights are on full brightness
The speaker wire pairs will have between 8 ohms and 15 ohms resistance, and the speaker wires should be wrapped separating front & back & power connectors, but the three wraps are then sometimes wrapped together, or all wrapped in a single large jumble, depends on what day it was.
If those wires get hooked up to the speaker port you'll blow the amp inside the stereo.
Make sure you have good lighting so you don't confuse any colors. The brown wire is nearly black and hard to make out.
