2000 SSEi Mods
I bought my car about two and half years ago and ever since then I have heard that I can't put any mods on it because of the computers sensitivity. Is this true or not because I would LOVE! to put an intake and a Magnaflow Exhaust just to make the Silver Bullet fly even faster. Any input would be wonderful thanks.

Re: 2000 SSEi Mods
Firstly, welcome.
Secondly, I'm not sure what you mean as far as sensitivity. The computer will adjust based on mods, but it will only go so far. A tune will maximize the power and efficiency you can get out of it, but adding mods won't throw your computer in a tizzy.
Magnaflow doesn't make a bolt-on or cat-back exhaust for these cars. You'll have to piece together a system. I recommend a 3" downpipe and high-flow catalytic converter. Those are the main restrictions in your exhaust. After that, anything you add will change the sound and not add measurable performance.
I also recommend making sure all your maintenance is up to date. After that's done. we can talk about mods. The best intake for these cars is the Fenderwell Intake sold by Intense Racing.

Re: 2000 SSEi Mods
Thank you!
That helps a bunch and thats what i thougt i was going to have to do with the Magnaflow. I have been researching it and watching a few Youtubes on it and the 3" downpipe does sound the best so thats probably what i will do. And also that link helps alot i have been trying to find a fender intake like that

Re: 2000 SSEi Mods
His intake is actually painted PVC piping. I don't really recommend PVC because it can get brittle in the extreme cold and it also traps heat really bad.

Ed is right, it's a home made piece. I made it with solid PVC and not the cell core that can get real brittle. I havent had any problems with it. As far as heat gain, mine doesn't get that hot. Plus the inside is completley smooth for less turbulence. You can PM me for more details.
