I have to start out by saying picture quality is going to suck. I had to take a picture of a picture for these photos.
Also these are cars that I have bought and owned, not any of them were my parents cars. :poke:

This was my first vehicle, I bought it for 650$ with 124,000 on it and drove the snot out of it. My dad helped me with the body work.
1986 Nissan 720 pickup, it had the Z24 in it with a 5 speed. It was a good old truck that I never really had to do anything mechanical to. When I sold the truck I got 500$ for it, so not to bad.
Image

Image

I ordered this back in Dec of 97. I ordered it with the H.O. 4.3l, 5 speed, sport suspension package, and limited slip rear.
1998 S-10
Image

Bought this as a winter beater when I had the S-10 in storage.
1991 Sonoma I4, 5 speed

Image

This was a toy just before I ordered the S-10 and a waste of money  . Ended up being to much of a rusted out project car for me and ended up scraping it out and selling the rest.
1979 Buick Regal w/ 400 small block chevy, and a TH350

Image

Ended up with this after the trucks, got it for 500$ and drove it for a year and sold it for 500$
1988 VW jetta I4, 5 speed

Image

After the Jetta I bought the Mazda, after having the Mazda for only a month the tranny took a complete crap. This is when I found out about the 4 cylinder automatics being junk. Other than the tranny issue, not that bad of a car.
1998 626 lx I4, auto

Image

I have this one for a future project that I'll get to someday. :dontknow:
1968 VW Beetle (chassis), the bonne hood is propped up against it on the wall. :)

Image
My current vehicle:
1999 SE

Image

This is my wife's vehicle:
1999 Chevy Suburban 7.4l 4x4 beast and loaded to the gills!

^^ That Jetta is unusual in having the round twin headlights and grille from the Golf. Suits it though. :)

Yes, it is and it was also a bugger to find parts for. If I'm remembering correctly it was a german edition. The front brakes were a non typical version for the American model. It was a fun little car to drive and would get about 30mpg and had a huge trunk. :)

VW dealers parts nightmare.
make sure you know where the car originated! had a few of those come to our dealership, only one or two really knew what they had.
We get a lot of swapped in engines/drivetrain cars here, guys bring in engines etc. from Europe

First car when I was 16: 1992 Subaru SVX
Image

Second car: 1990 Eagle Talon TSi turbo
Image

Third car: 1996 Honda Accord EX (was bone stock + 60 shot NOS. What can I say, I was bored and it was slow).
I don't have any pictures, but I was able to find it parked at my house on Google street view, haha! The picture was taken 4 years ago too.
Image

1991 Honda Civic hatchback I owned at the same time:
Image

I traded in my 96 Accord for this car: 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

Image

Inherited this 1985 Oldsmobile Toronado, became a 1967 Olds 330 V8 swap project
Image

Also found it on Google street view...
Image

1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo coupe
Image

Drove this in Mississippi while in tech school: 1993 Volvo 940
Image

My current ride, waiting in storage for my return: 1997 Chevy Camaro Z28 6 speed
Image
Image Image
1997 Camaro Z28: LT1 with a proper 6-speed gearbox, Centerforce clutch, Bilstein struts, Ground Control adjustable springs, LCAs, PHR, SFCs, EBC Yellow brake pads, K&N intake, Comp Cams 502 (duration 218/224 @.050, lift .495/.503), LS6 valve springs, Pacesetter long tube headers, 3 inch Magnaflow exhaust, custom PCM tune by Wong's Performance Engineering in Vancouver, WA.

2013 BMW 135i: 3.0 liter turbo I6, 7 speed Dual Clutch Transmission, M-Sport package, bone stock.

Sold, but missed: 1996 Bonneville SSEi, 3.4 pulley, Intense intake, Zilla Motorsports ported LIM.

no pics, I'm afraid but I've had:
1972 Impala, grey and rust colored
1971 Chrysler newport, Dark Brown and denty
1968 Plymouth Fury, yellow, rusty and loud
1986 Prelude, grey and go-kart like in comparison to above
1988 RX-7, red and free. It was in a house in Boulder I'd moved into. So I drove it till I blew the engine.
1988 Cherokee, I lived in it for a summer, quite roomy with the seats folded down!
1968 Cadillac sedan deville, this was the easiest starting car I've ever owned! Of course I was sitting on the seat springs....
1996 Geo Prizm, a perfectly reasonable car that won't start for some insane reason, thus I bought
1996 Bonneville, a rather satisfactury car thus far...

Ok, The American ones;
'79 Olds Delta 88 diesel, guess what went wrong....
'78 Olds 98 Regency powered by a 455 from a '70 Toronado, sold to someone with a V12 Jaguar when I blew him away in a drag race.
'78 Dodge D200 Crew Cab, ex USAF, slant 6/727, slow but very tough.
'79 Chevy Monza, 151/stick, worst American car I ever owned.
'82 Lincoln mk6, tbi302/aod, most comfortable car I ever had.
'85 Chevy G10, sold for £1500 profit within 24 hours.
'79 Buick Century wagon, 231 v6, bought as a stopgap while I looked for something better but it was so pleasant to drive and reliable I kept it for 5 years until it started disintegrating with rust.
'83 Olds Cutlass wagon, 307/350c, bought for spares for the Buick, sold to a buddy who is turning it into a delivery van.
'84 Buick Riviera, almost matched the Lincoln for comfort, but never got it running properly.
'87 Olds 88 Royale Brougham, best car I've ever owned. :)

Just counted up the mainstream cars, 28 of them!,
First car I owned, 1954 Morris Minor.
First car I had that could keep up with traffic, '63 Vauxhall Viva.
First automatic, '68 Morris 1100.
Most comfortable, '70 Wolesley 18/85.
Most fun to drive, '78 Fiat 131 estate.
Exceeded my expectations the most, '84 Vauxhall Nova.
Biggest POS, '75 Morris Marina
Shortest ownership, '63 Mercedes 220, I sold it to someone who flagged me down during my 10 minute trip home after I bought it and offered me £150 more than I paid for it - I walked home!. :btruestory:
Best fuel mileage, my current '94 Nissan micra - 58 mpg on a 600 mile round trip.

The Marina is, to my mind, one of those cars that's so bad it's good. Probably actually quite fun to own as a classic car today, and I think they do have character. Not really my thing though... although I do know at least two people who own Morris Marinas and love them.

Did you know it was actually sold in the USA as the Austin Marina?:

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 (2001-2011) Sold it with 182,000 miles on it. Transmission was rebuilt twice within a year and still had problems. Had to sell it to get something more reliable.

2000 Mitsubishi Galant LS (2009-Current) Current daily driver 143,000 miles on it.

2002 Pontiac Bonneville SLE (2011-Current) Was my parents car, bought brand new, now has 147,000 on it and it's my wife's daily driver.

I had 3 Marinas, I paid peanuts for them and scrapped them when something expensive went wrong.
In the '70s British Leyland marketed the Marina, Austin Allegro, Austin Maxi, Princess range, XJ6 Jaguar, SDI Rover, and Sherpa van.
All underdeveloped, and badly built by a strike prone workforce with awesomely incompetent management.
They also made MGs and Triumph cars, outdated designs but they had ironed out most of the faults with these cars, the Truimph stag being a notorious exception of underdevelopment.

Yet they managed to sell these POS cars in reasonable numbers, only problem was they lost money on most of them.
Micheal Edwards, brought in to try to save the company was amazed when he asked his various department heads how much it cost to make the cars and not one them knew!.
When the Mini was introduced Ford UK bought some and disassembled them to find out how they could make the cars for the price. They concluded they couldn't and they were right, every mini sold cost more to make than it was sold for.

When the Japanes built car plants in the UK they steered away from the midlands where the motor industry was based, Nissan set up in the north east, traditionally a shipbuilding area, Honda and Toyota set up in areas that had a railroad heritage. After a while they found the British could assemble cars matching the quality of their Japanese plants.

Roger.

Thanks, when I bought it in Feb it had 104k miles and a very faded paint job. After a quick Maaco fix me up ( which I don't recommend ) and wheels from the mustang, it looks completely different. The HIDs make it stand out too. It's not the supercharged version though.

Poor customer service and they also charged me for body work they didn't do. Then tried to talk to me like I was a fool that doesn't know anything about paint jobs. But luckily for them I am a man of God and I just walked away from loosing my religion. The paint job was $350 plus prep work( I had already sanded the car and primed any needed areas) and they filled in dings( just not the ones that were actually on the car) for an extra $250 plus tax
