I'm about to order the 3" DP from ZZP and wondered whether I should go with the aluminized or with the stainless steel for the extra $50 bucks. Is there really any difference in terms of longevity, looks, installation or performance?
Second, how many extra horsepower am I missing out on by not getting headers?
thanks

Re: Aluminized or Stainless Steel 3" Downpipe
The stainless steel is going to last far longer than an aluminized downpipe, especially if you're up north. As far as performance goes I doubt there's any difference, if there is, it's negligible. And you're never going to see the thing once it's installed so I wouldn't worry about how it's going to look.
Also, you're not missing out on any extra power by going with a downpipe rather than headers. With your current mods headers will be of little benefit. Unless you plan to do any valve train mods (cam/rockers) then a downpipe and a PLog would be perfectly fine.
