03 SSEi drivers door electrical issues - all issues fixed

My new / old Bonneville, the blower is not working. I know the blower itself id good, what else could cause it not to run? Is there a blower control module that could be bad?

Yes, I can throw one in with the door module if you want to try it.

If it doesn't fix it, just send it back.

Blower control module did nothing, what would be next?

Have you checked for voltage at the blower? Would not be the first time a part had a short life.

I checked voltage at the blower and I have voltage, but not sure if it is right... anyone have a diagram of what voltage should be where with any given fan speed? My ex got a blower from haro not long ago and that didn't fix the issue either. The blower that is in the car currently, I just took it apart and inspected the brushes, they are good and are making good contact (I know this doesn't guarantee a good motor though) at random times the blower will run normal, but usually not. I have dealt with bad blower motors before and this just doesn't seem like a bad motor, tapping it or spinning it by had results in nothing.

Any chance this could be caused by a bad heater / ac control unit?

Ok, so after toying with this for several days, I found something else also, my daytime running lights didn't work. Digging deeper I found that the DRLs and the blower motor are both controlled through the instrument panel integration module (IPM) I looked and looked for the IPM and just can't find it. Funny thing now though is that after all that looking and accidently turning the ignition on without the dash integration module (DIM) plugged in, the blower and DRLs have now worked flawlessly for over a week now.... maybe it was just a loose connection somewhere?


Does anything at all from the drivers door module run through the IPM? Still no luck with anything there...

I think I have it narrowed down to the window switch module itself. Found another thread with tons of info on this issue and one member had my exact symptoms and also swapped his DDM with no change then swapped the switch module and it all worked again.

That was my thought on your other thread. You said the switches looked clean when you took it apart. The window switch module is more than switches.

Yea, I knew it was more then switches, I took it all apart the first time but didn't inspect it thoroughly enough I guess. Took it apart again yesterday and found a good amount of corrosion that I am sure is causing my issue.

Getting cold here and still don't have this figured out :(

Drivers door - lights work on the switch module and door handle surround, but still no functions from any switch. I noticed the other day that when driving at night, after I shut the car off, only the lights on the drivers door stay lit until the interior lights turn off, oaall others turn off immediately, doesn't seem normal. I have swapped out both the drivers door module and the switch module (at the same time, and each by itself) with no difference in anything.

Blower - I have swapped out the blower control module and the instrument panel integration module (separately, not both at the same time yet) and still no cure there either. Also, as mentioned above, a known good blower as swapped with also no cure. Winter is coming and the heat MUST work, however, with current finances we simply can not afford to take it to a dealer or auto electrical shop.

On my older cars if I couldn't figure something like this out I would simply run a fused wire directly to the blower on a toggle switch. Yea, it would only operate at full speed, but at least it would work. I m likely going to have to rig it like that for this winter to get by for now until it warms up again so I can really look into it. My question though is there is three wires and can I run the blower with just positive and ground without the third control wire?

Have you checked the grounds? The IPM, blower control and RF door module all use G201. However, the DDM uses 200.

I have checked a couple grounds, not sure if I checked those specific ones though. Any idea where specifically they are?

If I can't get it working this weekend I plan to run a positive wire right to the blower on a toggle switch, but not sure how it works with the three wires going to the blower motor...
