It is pretty NASTY! Dents, scratches, tree sap EVERYWHERE, food and garbage all over the place. It is going to take a lot of work to get it back to my standards, but it will get there. Heather and I are working on cleaning it up right now, also have some electrical issues as well - I am sure the drivers door module is bad, and the blower motor only works sometimes (blower is good, blower control module maybe?)

I'm back!!!

Did she give up on it?

It looks in just about the shape where I'd swoop in and buy it.

*edit*... oh I thought this was your old one... didn't even think that it might be a new project.

Yea, this is the old one, she basically gave up on it. Sad thing is there is still another year of payments left on it! Already looking tons better, wheels cleaned up, tires shined up, car washed, sap removed, interior cleaned up. Gonna polish it up, clear the headlights, and maybe pull the interior for a good deep cleaning. Andrew, how much for a drivers door module?

Tinted tails are still there, the tint has faded some though. As for the GXP headlights.... a few months ago the fuel pump died on her about a 1/4 mile down the road from her moms house. She took her moms car to work and one of the other employees that just got out of work volunteered to pull it back to her moms. Well, the guy is obviously a few bubbles off level as he didn't have anyone to steer the car as he pulled it. He cranked the wheel and tried to do a U turn which resulted in the car going in the ditch and smashing into a tree wiping out one GXP headlight, making a nasty mess of the passenger side fender, and breaking the passenger mirror off. I had those headlights sitting in my closet still and gave them to her to swap in.

About three weeks later she was at a friends house and went to leave and ran into a truck cab that was getting ready to be hauled in for scrap, which resulted in a nice long horrible scratch and dents all over the passenger side from the front fender all the way down to the back bumper :( to be fixed right it will need a fender, passenger front door, repaint on the back door and part of the bumper as well as some body filler on the rear dog leg just behind the back door as it left a horrible dent there... for now I am going to polish what I can, use some black touch up paint and hope for the best. Looking around for some decent priced replacement parts though.

As for how I got it back? We went out and when we got home it was sitting in the driveway exactly as you see above. All her stuff removed, paperwork on the passenger seat, and keys in the ignition. All said and done, she will likely regret this and want it back especially when she sees it all nice again, but there ain't a chance in hell she will get it back.

Works out ok though, I kinda have been wanting another SSEi anyways for the trips to New York and back not to mention that I miss having one anyways LOL. She sits at 220,000 miles right now with LOTS of life left!

OK, time for an update! :beerchug:

To start off, this is how it looked this morning after the work we did yesterday - wash, clean wheels and tires, tree sap removal over the entire car, and good interior cleaning.

Nasty scratch

Mangled up fender

Scratch and nasty dent

Interior after cleaned up and vacuumed.

NASTY engine, haven't touched it yet though
Image

SO... that was where we started at this morning.

However, the interior wasn't quite as good as we wanted, and I also wanted to tackle the drivers side seat heater that hasn't worked since I originally bought the car.

Close your eyes and hide your children :btruestory:
Image

Image

Image

Image

Heather did an amazing job cleaning the carpet up! (not done here, just starting)
Image

Aso having issues with the drivers door not working with any of the switches and buttons, heard of a tan / white wire that likes to corrode at a connector under the drivers seat, figured I would look for that first.
Image

I didn't get any more pics of it, but it looked really clean, but I removed the cheap splice and soldered all four wires together and completed with shrink wrap for a good tight seal.
Image

Found something interesting for the seat heaters though!
Image

All soldered back together and ready for shrink wrap
Image

Even under the carpets was just disgusting! Vacuumed that all up.
Image

Cleaned up the rust and painted it with some Rust-Oleum spray paint I had laying around. Not perfect, but much better then leaving the rust alone.
Image

Now, while waiting for the carpet to dry, I took the drivers side door panel off to check the drivers door module (no issues found with it, gonna get one from haro) and also the blower control module (also no issues found, gonna get one from haro). After that was all done I had an idea of what to do with the headlights. I wanted to originally clear them, but couldn't find the silverstar bulbs, so I came up with another plan.

Little preview of the first try

Image
Image

Wasn't quite happy yet so I went a little further, here is a finished light
Image
Image

Original
Image
Image

Modded (before I went darker with the reflector though)
Image
Image

All done (headlights), hope you guys like it!
Image

Blinker on, still plenty bright
Image

Running light, a little dim, but will be plenty good at night
Image

Still have to polish it all up yet as well as do some more touch up paint, but it will get there! Interior should be all together tomorrow as well.
