I've been tossing around the idea of caliper painting since I got my new wheels, and trying to decide if I want to, and if I do, which color. I wanted to see what you guys thought. I'm leaning towards silver since I have a black/chrome theme going on apparently. Also the thought of the old standby, red, crossed my mind - I think it'd be a bit too much for my car though. There's a bit of surface rust on a few spots on the calipers so maybe just a glossy coat of black would look good. What do you all think?
Here's a couple pics to help give an idea of what I'm working with (also see sig pic!):
I say black, but then again, I'm going with red, so idk

Go with silver, everyone and their momma has red ones. Another option I have seen is anodized blue. I saw the blue ones on a 99 white GTP with blue racing stripes and it looked great. I am not sure how it would look on black.

Although I'm not sure which one I like best. I don't think the blue fits. I kinda think the red looks the best, but I don't want to end up looking ricer-ish...
you're welcome. Just remember, the silver might look better with a lot of clear coats. But then it might make your rim look weird.
I too am stuck with choosing between silver and black for my car.

Yeah, I agree... The silver almost looks like it takes away from the chrome of the wheels. I'm also wondering if black would even be worth the effort as they are flat black from the factory...
Although I agree that red has been done to death.... black diappears, blue doesn`t go with the car,
silver blends with the rims too much......leaving...... red! It won`t look ricey, unless you plan to add a huge
wing and lots of exterior lights! I went red myself...
white car, red badging.
Red does look good, maybe if he had something else that was red on the car to tie it all together... I was wrong on the silver, it takes away from the rims.

I haven't even started looking yet at a paint to use. It'll probably be a couple months before I do it, so I have plenty of time to decide.
I do like the red. The only stuff that's red on my car besides the tail lights/pontiac darts is my Intense sticker on my driver's side mirror. But, I think the splash of red would look nice.
