Using Torque Android App on my Bonne
Hey Guys.
Just picked up my Obd2 bluetooth adapter for $20, and got the paid torque app from the market. I must say, I love it and I very impressed. It reads almost everything (fuel trim, AFR, even reads Trans tempature) because it has most of GMs extended PIDs. The only thing, and MOST important thing I am having problems with is...you guessed it KR. Its always reading 0.0 even at WOT. I know its good not to have KR, but I know I supposed to get at least some degree lol. I was wondering if anyone was using this app, and got KR to work with their car. I was searching, and there was a guy on the 3800pro foruim that got KR working with his car. I can also add custom PIDs anyone know where I can find the PID for KR. Thanks

Re: Using Torque Android App on my Bonne
UPDATE: I would like to comfirm that. TORQUE IS READING KR!! I made a pass (wot from 30-65) kr was was reading between 0.5 and 1.2, and it peaked at 1.3. Now it doesn't have the fastest refresh time (0.5 seconds), but I can at least read it. I will try to get a log to show you guys later. It also read my trans temp (peaked at 198*) Its not a Aeroforce, but hey for $25 total spent. Its worth every penny.

According to a member of another forum if you spring for the expensive adapter the refresh time is alot quicker.

Well I just paid $5 for the app lol So since he spent $20 I should spend $40 for a better one?swampthing wrote: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PLX-Kiwi ... veQ5fTools

Re: Using Torque Android App on my Bonne
OBD bluetooth adapters can range from $7-$150 depending on the quality and what type it is. I bought mine from a ebay seller named tom-top. It auction also had a Best offer option, but I didn't see it when I bought it lol. If your going to by an adapter MAKE SURE you buy it from an US seller, because it would take almost a month to get here from overseas. Like I said, if you have an option of an aeroforce guage, I'd get that. But this is a great alternatave

I don't know... that looks just like the $20 dollar one. If you want to stay cheap just buy the cheapest one, because I have a feeling that unless you buy the kiwi that is completely different looking they are all basically the same I think

Nice! If I didn't already have a ScanGauge I'd be all over that.

Here is the link to the one I bought. It even has a 60-day warranty
.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ELM327-OBDII-OBD2-V ... 0661576475
Also It tests your MPGs directly from the PCM, but seems a little optimistic. Said I got 31.2 mpg in. 80\20 highway\city driving vs 23.4 on the DIC. It Torque's instant mpgs are actually on point (sometimes lower) with the DIC's instant, but while coasting, instead of it stopping at 70 MPGs, it can go as high at 140 (depending on speed).

Re: Using Torque Android App on my Bonne
You have to calibrate it by entering engine displacement and vehicle weight, its default is like 1.7l and very light weight

I did have it set up. I had the car weight set at nearly 1800kg, and 3.8 engine displacement.

Re: Using Torque Android App on my Bonne
When you first start torque press menu=>settings. Once your in settings, go to Custom PIDs. Then press menu button again, and go to "add predefined set", and add the one that says opel\vauxhall\GM. That custom PID set will have Knock Retard in it. Don't Pick the one that say KNOCK RETARD (alternative)

Re: Using Torque Android App on my Bonne
Thanks, will give it a shot. I bought the $14 shipped one from China, showed up in 5 days amazingly. It works good, but I was unable to get KR. I did fix the neighbors truck already though, he didnt have a scan tool and was throwing parts at it, it turned out to be a bad Cam position sensor, just like the code said.
