Matt, Wendy, Paul, and Laura still here with Me, Lisa, and Katie.

Alberta Moderator Oompa Loompa Matt was 275 miles from home somewhere in Alberta with the G8 redlined about half an hour ago. Considering WHERE he is, I know he's making good time. Rubber side down, Brother Matt.

Arrived back in Victoria about 7pm, one of the last cars on the boat without a reservation, only had to arrive there about 3 hours previous to departure. I'm now sporting my new Rogue T-shirt. How many days till WCBF '12?

Kevin, *dang* glad you came this year! Nobody has EVER attended only one. Two is the contract minimum.

Matt and Wendy just left for Hillsboro (again). Paul and Laura will head out about 9am tomorrow, they just went back to the hotel.

John and I arrived home yesterday at about 6, after two massive traffic jams on the way up. About two hours later than we should've been, but made it safe :) Can't wait for next year!

We left Bill's at 9:00am, stopped just after Portland for a bladder stop and then again just before Chehalis at Rib Eye's restaurant for lunch and 1/2 tank of fuel. Arrived at the Hampton Inn in Burlington Washington, Mt.Vernon, at 2:30pm. Had to fill up again. 320 mi cost me $80 in fuel. 4 hours at an average 80 mph was not bad considering the traffic. I love three lane highways. The middle lane is for cruising. The left lane is for passing. The right lane is for passing when the left two are busy.
Dodged many bullets parked on the road side shooting laser beams.
Dogged most of the way by a ........Prius......how embarrassing!! One interesting and adrenaline charged encounter with a very black 300C. He passed me in the right lane when I got blocked in but triple digits were reached for 1/2 mile. Very intimidating car. I can't wait for next week when I rent one of those to play on Ontario highways. :bwoohoo:

10 minutes before we reached our destination, the heavens opened up and my wipers again had to be used. :sadeyz:

Another 300 miles tomorrow and two Ferry rides. Should be home by dinner if we leave in early morning.

The Firebird is running great on the highway, pulling hard from 70 to 110 but if I floor it, after a few seconds it will lose power and stop accelerating. I'm determined to solve this problem. :banghead:

The Bird has arrived in Powell River. If I'm not mistaken, that puts everyone home safe and without any road difficulties? Including all 3 Canadian cars......Paul and Laura in the bird, Kevin in the 89, and Matt in the G8!

Scratch that.....there may have been an incident on the road for the bird....breaking news just came across via SMS.

We left Mt. Vernon at 8:am this morning for the last leg home.
The border crossing was uneventful with only three cars in front of us taking about 5 minutes. Shortest time yet. Got to leave early again next time.

I had time to stop for an hour in Vancouver at the Park Royal Mall and get our last shopping fix done. Laura just had to buy that wool blanket.

No rain and a nice dry run all the way.

....well almost nice.

Ya, as Bill eluded to, the Bird had an incident with two police vehicles. #-o

I was making real good time as I was being prodded by an older 5.0 Stang. I couldn't let him pass me!!

More about it later on another topic......

Arrived home at 6:00pm
10 hours to go 183 miles.
The 80 km (50 miles) between ferries takes an hour. It's HWY 101 with a 50 mph limit.

Did you know, if you exceed the posted limit by 40 kph, they have the power to impound your vehicle for 7 days and a $1,000 fine! If you're caught a second time, it's a 30 day impound and $2,000 fine.

Ouch, at least it wasn't some sort of bodily damage to you guys or the cars! Me and the Po-po never got along in Vancouver or any other place for that matter.... I can at least carry on Bill's tradition and finally wipe of the numbers off my car now that the last car (and passengers) are safe at home since he didn't make it up to race this year.
