Re: ? For the guru's
Runing rich ,the only bad thing is if it will suck a
1/8 tank everytime I mash it..
I do have one more question .. does it make sense to extend a Iat to the fender well?
Edit .. After driving today I did notice a very slight miss in the idle . But some added power
In the butt fuh sho.

Re: ? For the guru's
I run rich also, which is not necessarily a bad thing from a safety standpoint.
When I get on the pedal the A/F ratio drops to 12-13. At WOT it drops to around 10.
My tail pipes are black and so is the bumper facia around them, but I still get 30 mpg going easy or 23 mpg going hard and fast on the highway.

Re: ? For the guru's
Very interesting I do drivee 60 miles to and from work highway or atstreets. I notice more pull on the highway. I might put it back in just to seen whats if any thing is changed. I so like the extra pony but the rough idle might annoy me .

Can you post a picture of your intake set up?
My idle is just fine. Remember it does take a tank of fuel or so for the computer to learn new trims.

Re: ? For the guru's
Oh, sorry. Yes I see. One suggestion is moving your IAT sensor out of the airstream just before the MAF sensor. It could be causing turbulence since it is directly in line with it.
Before I totally eliminated mine with the Timing Commander mod, I took mine out and moved it out to the filter. I protected it with a small piece of cloth to keep it from getting dirty but so it would detect the incoming air charge temperature and insulated the intake pipe so it wouldn't pick up engine bay heat on the way into the TB.

Wow well yours is much nicer looking , and yes I thought it only mafe since that putting iat by filter
Would only help timing .

Re: ? For the guru's
Yes, but your intake looks very smooth with no turbulating accordian flex connector so I am trying to speculate where the turbulence is coming from. It 'could' be coming from the IAT probe that goes into the top of the intake tube. Your MAF sensor is also on the top of the TB directly in line with it.
The air temp won't be that much different that it would affect timing by moving it....unless you locate it in a warmer area. Cooler the better.

Re: ? For the guru's
I do see what your talking about, timing may not change
But turbulance is effecting idle. Ok can I just splice into
The lead wire and just extend both .

Yes you can splice in the wires, or you can buy an extension from INTENSE.

Edit can I get the insulation wrap for intake at a local shop? Or can I cody lundine something.

Re: ? For the guru's
You can use some inexpensive reflectix aluminum coated bubble wrap 1/4" thick insulation sold a most hardware stores. Use aluminum tape to hold it together.

IAT does get adjusted based on the 02's long term as well. Wherever you have it, the computer basically uses it as a short term up/down adjustment. In theory further from the engine, heat soak will affect it less, and you'll get a more accurate reading of the actual air temp. I did like the provision on my K&N to put it in the filter itself.

Make less noise . I have heard in the past a bad one and this does not really sound bad per say. I will have to get a sound clip.

Is the rattle more pronounced at idle?
How many miles on the engine?
Are you sure it's not coming from the SC.....ie. coupler?
