This is driving me CRAZY!!

Post by gmguy64 »

How do you get to the tail lights in the trunk lid ive actually got BOTH lights out on the left now. Ive taken the four nuts on the backside off and I've tried every which way to take it off but it just will not budge. :banghead: It has probably never been off before so im guessing there may be some silicone or something holding it on but I still cant believe it is this difficult, there must be an easier way! Maybe I'm not doing it right? I have no idea... It is sooo irritating to be driving around with tail lights out because it looks so stupid at night. Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated. How many people does it take to change a light bulb? lol

Is this an upgrade or appearance change? I'm assuming so considering you posted it in Detailing and Appearance? Or is this a general mechanical question to simply change burnt out lights? If so, we need to move your topic to the proper section.

If I remember correctly you have to take off those nuts and there are also 2 pins on each side of the light you need to pull out. They are in the black trim around the bottom and sides of the light you will see when the trunk is open

Yeah sorry about that I guess its more mechanical than appearance because I just want to change the bulbs out, nothing else. But I think I know what pins you are talking about, in the black trim part right? But how do those come out, do they just pull right out?

They are simular to these. You pull out the round part in the middle which will unspread it and allow you to take it out
