Strange One
Daughter was driving when all of a sudden the radio goes off, service engine soon light on, security light on, ac compressor stops(fans blowing but got warm) and oil pressure Gage goes to flat 0. Engine running fine with no knocking. Radio going off and on. She had the usual dinging at times. She drives maybe a few minutes like this and gets to her apartment. Shuts car off and exits only to find radio still on, security light on, service engine soon light on, red light on radio flashing, and door locks do not work. After several turning car on and off the lights go out and radio goes off. Any ideas? I am thinking maybe the battery is on it's way out. First time all these happened at once. She has had the windows and door locks not work off and on which affects all doors when it does it. Could this be from an aftermarket alarm system? The car has some type of alarm which I believe was a dealer installed one, but we don't have any fobs for it and haven't used it because we have no way to use it nor do we need it. I didn't notice the alarm until after I bought it as I noticed this extra red wire under the hood. If I had known I would have avoided this car. Let me know where to start.

Re: Strange One
I had a simliar issue in my Old Z24. Ended up being the power coming to the back of the fuse block. I could screw around with the power door locks eventually everything would work again. Found the harness under the hood had a corroded / burnt up pin where the connectors mated.

Re: Strange One
I'll check that out. I just went and looked at it. Worked fine except the headlights came on while I was under the hood and when I shut it the lights went out. I see a connection there. She has had that lighting problem where they would flicker off and on and at times lights would go completely out even when on manual. I think there may be a loose connection under the hood. Thanks for that tip.Jeff2002WS6 wrote:I had a simliar issue in my Old Z24. Ended up being the power coming to the back of the fuse block.
