Power Steering

Post by CMS07 »

I have a 00 model sle with 135k. I noticed now that whenever I brake and go around a corner at slow speeds the power steering has a high pitch whine. It then continues to do it whenever I turn the wheel usually until I turn the car off and let it sit a while. Any ideas??

Have you checked the fluid level?

You can try replacing the fluid. Best thing would be to do it several times. Pump out the old, and replace. Drive it for a while, then do the same, again. See if that quiets it down. If not, then you may need to replace the pump.
