24mm or 15/16" will work.

I am hunting down a new CPS for the weekend fix and have run into some confusion. Granted, I have not looked at the old one yet but checking into the part by application, I am finding CPS with two mounting bolts. I am under the impression there should be only one and it will fit into a hole in the timing cover under the harmonic balancer. Or am I making the wrong assumption? I would like to have the right part on hand so I can put it back together the same day.

The camshaft position sensor on a vin "K" Series 2 engine should be just as you describe; one bolt and a hole in the cover:

You may need to remove the water pump pulley, but I don't think you need to remove the harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley) to get to it:

By CPS do you mean crankshaft or camshaft postion sensors?

Cam is one bolt, crank is two bolts and located to the 3 o'clock of the crank behind the pulley and the plastic shield.

I was gonna go after the crank position sensor to see if it cured my "die and restart" problem. Since the cam sensor is in the same area, I thinken of replacing both of them while I am at.
