If it had been an hour earlier, I can almost guarantee someone would have been hurt. When school gets out at 3pm, the sidewalk in front of our house is full of kids.

Glad to hear that you can still have a good outcome of this situation.
Hard to believe that the driver didn't get a ticket for hitting a parked car. :bluetwitch:

Dang! Sucks that you did all that only to have it totaled. But that's cool the situation will work out just fine if not better for you.

:sadeyz: that really sucks, even though it will work out nicely.
I had been watching this project and ended up loving the car at the end, *dang* fine looking car, its a shame, but at least it was only a flip car and nobody got hurt...

Lesson to be learned from this: Park the blue Bonneville, and other personal vehicles in the driveway from now on. Flips only parked on the street.

Eek. That could have been really bad. What if that fella had a spell travelling at a high rate of speed, or worse yet through a school zone? I hope over and above a few driving tests they'll do some medical analysis too.

Hard to fathom the car was that totaled when he was only travelling at 25mph! That's a lot of damage for such a slow speed.
Glad you can scoop the insurance money! That's a bonus.

Stinks to see such a nice car destroyed, especially after all the work you put into your flips to make them beautiful. Always a shame to have a mint car not see the road again. But, like you say, on the 'making money' side of things, you'll probably be better off this way, and won't lose anything for sure. Seems like a win-win situation to me, and glad that no one was hurt as well.

Funny how these last 2 flips are both coming back as parts cars....I've known about this forum's affinity for accidents with white Bonnie's....maybe it's spreading to silver & beige?

HOOOOLY MACKERALS!!!!
I got your txt's and expected a direct rear hit.
That's nut's what happened to it from a 20-25MPH hit that wasn't quite direct, but a more of a glancing hit, but in the right spot.
Yeah, you will definitely come out a :king: on this one.

A tragedy to see a car getting a new life breathed into it from the master and then crushed like that just before finding a new owner who I'm sure would have loved every mile of it. Too painful to look at. At least it does work out money wise though I'm confident it would have anyway. :sadeyz:

It is a shame to see all that work go to waste, but the car sold itself, and hopefully for a good payout.

I am intrigued at the suspension damage though, I would not have expected that.

I am glad to see that it looks like you will come out great from a monetary standpoint, but still a shame.

Let the demolition begin once the insurance adjuster gets out there, and hopefully there is no games on behalf of the insurance company :woowoo:

The severity of the damage is directly related to where the car was parked. Next to the curb. No give. Between a rock and a hard place. Had that been in the open with no curb, the car wouldn't be nearly as bad.

Adjuster came to look at it today... he was impressed with all the damage, LOL! If there were any doubting minds, it is a confirmed total loss.

Hrmmm... I am beginning to think that the white curse is beginning to take the offensive here. If I am approaching an intersection, and I see a white car any where near it, I think I will just stop and let it through, no matter who has the right of way, and hope to the powers that be, that a white car doesn't come up behind me.
