hey all,
i have a question, i have a 99 sse and the latch that you release the hood from never sounds like it releases, and the hood bounces a bit, like its been pulled, but then when you go to push up the paddle in the front, you have to push the hood up and down a bunch of times and fiddle with it to get it to open... how hard is this to fix/adjust...?

Re: 99 SSE - outside air temp and hood release
The outside air temp is the little doo-hickey you can see at the bottom of the hood latch vertical support when you open the flaky hood. Looks like a dog's penis just as he's starting to get aroused, but it's all black. Very easy to replace.
The hood latch thing? That's due to cable stretch. Sometimes lubricating everything helps (where the hook rides under the hood, the latch assembly, and even squirting down the cable).
Short of that, you can shorten the cable by adding a small clamp at the latch assembly to take out some of the slack.
