theres prolly no place under the hood. if there was u would probably have to move replace some stuff that would take a few hours of planning and actually gettin it done.
a small AGM batt could probably fitunder the center console under the dash.

or maybe under a seat.

i had a X static battcap 800 and on its side it could fit in alot of small spaces.

but the bigger batts all i could say is the trunk.

i have 3 batts in my trunk now and theres now way any of them would fit inside the cabin

If you do end up adding or installing another battery in the cabin or trunk make sure it's sealed and non venting. That or get a battery box that seals the battery and has a vent tube to vent any battery gas that is produced during charging. Just a thought for safety sake don't want to poison yourself, or if the battery ever had an issue it would be contained.

No matter the battery it needs to be properly vented and have pre-cautions in place. I would get a battery box and put it in the trunk, making sure it's externally vented. That will be the safest and best way to do it. A good box with cables, tie-downs and a vent tube should be around $50, depending if you get plastic or aluminum.

In my 2000 I have a Red Top mounted right in front of the drivers side front tire, right under where the air box would be.. I have the negative grounded to the transmission, while the positive is fused and runs to the Positive post on the alternator..

BFF_Larry, 2k's are set up different compared to 92-99s. 2000 was the first year for the "new body style". The factory location for the battery is under the rear passenger seat.

Putting a battery upfront wont be good for handling... It's a significant percentage of weight being added to the front. Trunk is best if you mount and vent it correctly.

BonneMe.. Do you care to explain how you think that adding 40 pounds in Front of the front tires is worse than mounting 40 pounds above or behind the rear axle?! I highly doubt he is extremely worried about handling if he is adding a stereo that draws enough power to warranty the use of 2 batteries.. If I were to be drag racing a fwd car with 2 batteries you can bet that i would much rather have those 40 pounds above the front wheels..

Handling. It's a VERY nose heavy car, shifting 40 or 80lbs to the rear is ALWAYS good for a better handling car.

If someone is taking drag racing serious enough to worry about battery placement, he wouldn't have 2 batteries and a giant sound system... Launching hard isn't about tons of weight up front, it's about tire grip, and powerband. Once you get rolling the extra weight will just slow you down anyways.. Ask a 5th Gen Camaro owner
