In all honesty, our cars are worth only what someone is willing to pay for them. They typically sell under KBB value private party.

KBB ballparks $1000 - $1600 for 1991 based on condition, and 150k miles. I never did like NADA myself on old cars.

Depending on how it looks, I would expect a posting for $2000 OBO, and see what offers you get.

EDIT: I am always a fan of keeping the car, but I am a fan of that generation too.

I moved this topic here since it wasn't a mechanical problem.

This car is valued up to $5,013.00 in the NADA GUIDES.
http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/ ... dan/Values

It is now a classic car. I am selling my 90 SSE and have been offered $2,860 so far.
I will post it on Ebay in the spring.
As stated earlier, it is all what someone is willing to pay for it.

FYI, that car is nowhere near $5k. And nobody considers it a 'classic' in the sense that it improves in value because of it's current age. In REALITY, the car is worth less than half that 5k.

You can refute price all you want.
Bottom line is the car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
The original SSE GM's design engineers car sold on EBAY a few years back for $11,500.
It was White with gold crosslace wheels and GM stored it in house for him until his retirement.
He has since passed away.

Here's the value at 100k miles loaded with every possible option in my zip code:

Excellent
$2,410
Good
$2,210
Fair
$1,735

You won't find a buyer at $5k anywhere in the lower 48.

i sold my 1988 sse which was great all around due to the $1500 or more i put into just motor work, the new paint job, and new used interior and rims and system. car was execellent but had a minor rust issue where the drivers seat bolts down to. easy fix. but i had it on craigslist for a month and sold it for $800...

oh and my sse only had 83k when i sold it...

yes. $800.. thats it.. and i was lucky and happy to get that.

especially in this economy. people want fuel efficient cars..

Pictures would help, it depends on condition and like every one is saying "what someone is willing to pay" is what you can get. What kind of headaches are you talking about? Has she been driven in the winter.? In my area the 88-91 SSE's are few and far between, since owning mine i've seen 1 in 5 years of driving around, and that one has since dissapeared. Not that i would sell mine but if i were i would'nt take any less than $6,000. I've already been offered $4,000 for it, waiting at the grocery store.. She will be buried with me and now one else... ;) Good luck on the sale..

SSEBonne4evr is yours the one i keep seeing on craigslist for around 3-4,000.. I keep checking just to see if it has sold, if i had the money :hit it: . Since i first saw it on there i wanted to get my car and that one in a picture... red and black..

You should start a new thread in the for sale section and add photos of it.
