air suspension switches
I have the optional performance or touring choice switches in my 98ssei and no matter witch i push both lights stay on. I click like it should but wondered if that is normal? I think i can feel the difference in the ride. thanks

Re: air suspension switches
Those are the CCR switches, Computer Command Ride. They control the damping of the struts. If both lights are on, there is an error and they are not working. The system continually retries on error, so of it is a momentary error, it will go away. If it stays on, most likely one of the struts has failed.

Re: air suspension switches
every once in a while they will flash but 99% of the time they both stay lit. It rides level and never bottoms out on any side. any easy way to test?

Re: air suspension switches
This has nothing to do with ride height, that is the elc system. CCR is strictly strut damping, how soft or hard the ride is. Yes, you can query the system to see which strut is erroring out.

Re: air suspension switches
connect pins 3 and 4 of DLC connector to enter diagnostics (this is the connector above your feet under the dash)
turn ignition to "run" position
check and record codes
The blink codes seq starts with a short lamp off period. Then code 12 is displayed three times to mark the beginning of the seq. Next, each stored error code is blinked out in ascending order. Each error code is displayed three times before proceeding to the next code. After all error coded have been displayed, the entire seq will begin again by displaying the code 12 three times.

Re: air suspension switches
i have checked and there are no engine codes. I tested it at advance auto parts. Those machines should catch those codes should it not? I am new to the OBDII system use to OBDI

Re: air suspension switches
well first comes the 12 code showing that the system is functioning correctly. blink pause blink blink, then the 23,24,25
blink-blink-blink-pause-blink would be the 31 code,
blink-blink-blink-pause-blink would be the 31 code,

Re: air suspension switches
From your symptoms, my best advice is to live without it. It's a substandard system at best even when it works, and the replacement struts are either impossible to find or horribly expensive (600-800 each).
