This Thursday I am having my new 2010 leftover Silverado delivered. I could not find one locally optioned with what I wanted, but during my search I found a left over 10 that was available with every option I wanted except color. I can live with Black especially since I am getting it at $12,500 under MSRP!!! Dealer's around here wanted way to much to find me a truck from another dealer and if I were to order a new one it would take 6 weeks to get.. and with that the price is NOT guaranteed! You get the current incentives at the time of delivery if you can believe that!

Here is my truck!

2010 Silverdao LTZ Black on Black. 6.2-liter V8 Boss engine, which makes 403 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque. It also has the heavyduty package with 3.73 gears, which are now the biggest gears you can get and only come with the HD package. I must have been working my F150 to hard as I burned the transmission up with only 66K miles on it.

Nice upgrade!! Love Gm's new trucks but I prefer the styling of the GMC a little more than Chevy

I'm with you on that but I could not find a deal like ths on a GMC.. and the dealers here want around 1500 more for a new (2011) GMC over the Silverado.

Very nice - looks like you got pretty much EVERY option save for the 20" wheels. I've looked at those LTZ's before, and wow, those things might as well be Cadillacs. Amazing what you can get on a truck these days.

It's surprising that your tranny went on the F150 with only 66k on it - not a common issue I've heard of. I'm assuming you got it replaced under powertrain warranty, because it should have still been covered? I do know that those 5.4's are pretty wheezy compared to the competition though. Drove an '08 SuperCrew when it was new, and while it was decent, I expected a lot more for 300hp. That 6.2L in the Chevy will be miles ahead in terms of power.

Thanks. and no warranty on the Ford. It only had a 3/36 when new. I had bought a 5/60 but I was 6K miles above that and the dealer said they could not help with the repair cost.

I already found a set of 20s for it but for now I think I am just gonna leave it alone and drive it as it is. :)

You're gonna love it. I know we love our 2011 'Burb. Looks like that truck has every single option, too. Nav, Brake Controller, DVD, everything.

The benefit of the 17's is that tires are going to be WAY cheaper, and you'll have a much better ride with more sidewall.

Do you know if they've got better rods in the newer 6.2's?
I know the 07-09's it was common for them to break a rod, sometimes fresh off the lot. Almost ALWAYS under 100k.
My brother just got a 07 Denali w/93k and when I did the first oil change in it @ 93,800 miles I found coolant and a LOT of metal in the drain pan. It's going to the dealer Monday to under the 5yr/100k powertrain warranty.
I'm guessing they'll try to get it running so it doesn't break the rod until 100,001 miles.

I haven't seen that many 6.0/6.2 related engine complaints on the GM truck websites I go to? I know of the lifter issues with the AFM 5.3's, but thats about it. Sounds like you got the NHT package with the 3.73's. Are the pictures not working for anybody else?

So what do you end up doing with a Ford with a bad tranny with 66k miles and no warranty?

New truck looks awesome... I'd feel guilty getting into that interior with my work clothes on.

I had the tranny rebuilt and now have put 2500 miles on it. The dealer is buying it off me. They are delivering this truck on Thursday and taking mine when they leave.

Really must be something about white vehicles (NOT trying to turn this into a white curse thread). My 02 Bonnie was white and like it, this truck has had it's share of issues... but 04/05 F150's had a few quirks.. mine seems to have them all though. All of them were covered under warranty until this recent tranny issue. But I just can't stand dealing with something that needs attention as much as this. I want to drive it and maintain it, not have to have this or that repaired on a routine basis.

I don't drive my truck to work much and if I do I either bring a change of cloths or something to put on the seat. My Bonnie is my work beater, which is more than ok by me lol

I for one will not buy another white vehicle!

My last statement in this thread was that I would not buy another white vehicle. I guess I am a liar! lol In my defense, The Enclave is my Wife's and she did pick it out, not me.

Looks good!! Love those wheels. How's it treating you, especially doing a lot of towing? Our '11 Suburban's transmission hates its life...

Truck is great! The only real issue I had with it was the rear main seal was leaking. I noticed it early, maybe after the 3rd oil change. Felt like I had to hold the service techs hand in identifying the leak. First they thought it was residual oil from the last oil change. They did put dye in the oil and ask me to come back to look at it. I did and they still couldn't find it. So I drove it some more and before dropping it off the third time I crawed under the truck and wrote on the service slip everywhere I could see oil. They did replace the seal and it is not leaking anymore.

It tows my boat without issue. I don't really have a good picture of the this truck and boat..

I really just love the power of this thing. There is a lot of torque management and the tranny could use a better tune but I am not complaining. Maybe one day I will purchase a tune or PCM from Blackbear and make it that much more fun to drive.

Could someone please explain what a " 6.2-liter V8 Boss engine" is?

I haven't heard of any GM engine referred to that before.

I don't remember where I seen it being called a Boss engine. That could have been someones definition of it that I may have read when researching it before purchase, I dunno. The repo code for this engine is L9H. It does not have AFM which I am very happy about.

I think you are right, the FORD engine is referred to as a Boss, not the Chevy.
