Just got a call from the dealer. The GXP was dumping tranny fluid on
the garage floor. I just had the crossover gaskets and oil cooler lines
replaced last January, -- $1400 covered by extended warranty. Now
the service advisor says the trans-axle seal is leaking. Must be repaired
by removing cross(something) and dropping tranny. 15 hours labor.
Car will be ready in two days. Extended warranty will cover it. Whew!!
Wonder what that bill would be. Oh, motor mount broken as well, they said.
The car has 66K miles on it. What a piece of junk. This car has had more repairs
in the first 65K miles than all my previous cars combined in their first 65K miles.
And they were all GM as well.. Two Tahoes, other Bonney, a Blazer, and a Camaro.
Each of them had barely any repairs in the first 4 or 5 years of life. It really makes
you wonder what happened to these GXP's.

This is why I was wary of mine as it was approaching 100k. I just knew it would be a handful of little, nit-picky things, on a Northstar, shoved in a FWD platform, with an equally large front transmission/axle, that my time to fix it would exponential. Time I don't have anymore.

The only reason I bought my GXP was because all the major powertrain headaches were taken care of not long ago. Never would've touched it otherwise.

wow, Sorry to hear about this!!! Stories like this and others with loads of issues with their GXP's makes one wonder!! But On the other hand i know some ppl say it's a hit and miss when it comes to a good and bad gxp!!
