RPM Gauge
Hey guys started having this problem last week and seems to be popping up here and there the past few day. When I first start my car in the morning my RPM gauge isn't showing any reading doesn't sweep at all it just sits a zero. Now most of the time if I restart the car the gauge will then work. Recently though I have had times where its been working while I was drive and it stopped work and had times when its been the other way around where its not been working and all of the sudden it started to work. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what might be going on or what I could take a look at. Aside from this the car has been running fine recently. thanks

Re: RPM Gauge
Sounds like the motor in the cluster is going bad. Nothing you can do except send the cluster out to replace the motor or replace the cluster. harofreak00 might have one or 2 yet.

Re: RPM Gauge
The tach and speedometer do not normally sweep during start-up. As Beast mentioned, the problem is likely in the cluster, or the wiring to it.

Re: RPM Gauge
well today the service engine light came on and what do you know
P0336- crankshaft position sensor
As I was looking around I saw this mentioned a few times with the RPM gauge not working but usually had stalling along with it which i have yet to have, so I was hoping that wasn't the case. I have had the crankshaft position sensor changed out about two years ago and that time I was having the stalling issue so I guess its round 2 of the crankshaft position sensor.
