Well I am in the band the first cliche, and we play sometimes at the pub. Most of my friends are in it but you might know some of them. Jamison Murphy, Grant Gibeau, Ben Crist, Matt Peterson, Joel Stanek... And I know a handful of other people too, but mostly just from being up there

Find the ICM-to-block ground and clean it. On a Series I, it's right below the ICM, probably similar to a Series II. You might also run a second ground from the battery negative to the engine block as a diagnostic aid to see if it changes the behavior/need to have your spark plug wires reversed.

Definitely check/replace the fuel pressure regulator. Check/clean ALL ground and positive connections, including the battery connections. New pos and neg cables would not be a bad idea. Run a new ground wire from bat to engine block. Check the connection at your HVAC blower motor--my 94 n/a had a melted connection at the plug into the blower motor that caused all kinds of driveability havoc! A new pigtail from NAPA was cheap, and fixed my un-driveable condition.

I know it's a "bad" thing to do, but hook up a fuel pressure tester with enough hose that you can stick it under your left windshield wiper, and look at fuel pressure as you drive.

This is where my redneck mechanic mind would go, if I had the same problem.

Just be sure to check with BOTH stock firing order, and your improvised firing order.

ESPECIALLY with the STOCK firing order. Just because..................

What were the symptoms for you HVAC problem? Anything like mine?

I know there is tons wrong with my HVAC system... The fans barely blow anything but I thought there was just stuff clogging the vents (ants were living in it). I do know the AC thing near the ground close to the front on the passenger side connected to one of the belts is messed up. It doesn't spin like its supposed to and makes tons of noise when you turn on the AC (which doesn't work). I just didn't think any of those problems could possibly be related to my bigger problem.

SOLUTION FOUND (to 90% of the problem anyway): It was the ignition control module. Replaced with one from the junkyard and BOOM. Good as new! Still misfires a bit in the midrange, I think an injector or two is still bad, But it is literally TEN TIMES better. It is probably 85% of its new self. Thanks for your help!

Good to hear.

Now do you understand why we don't like double posting? You have 2 threads with the exact same information.

Next time you have a problem, keep in one thread. Thanks!

The odds of this being an injector issue are very slim. Please pull all 6 plugs, keep them in order, and take a close shot of them and post it.

I can do that, although they are all brand new so it is probably unlikely that there will be any signs of damage or anything that will be obvious just from looking at them

An defective ICM will do more than that. I had a defective ICM take out the coil packs, spark plugs and O2 sensor, and I had to go through 3 ICMs from the parts store to get a good one. Hope you have better luck than I with the parts. -BC

So I took it for a spin today and plugged in my OBD reader, hoping it would finally give some more useful readings. It did! Cylinder 2 misfiring. I take a look under the hood, check around... The spark plug wire for cylinder 2 was slipped off a little bit on the spark plug itself. I am not sure at which point of working on it this happened but I popped it back on, drove it again, no problems whatsoever. She drives like a dream. No misfiring, no stuttering, no error codes. I have my old car back. Thanks everyone for your help! I probably won't be leaving this forum because it was helpful and my car still leaks gas and the HVAC system doesn't work, but at least it drives great!

This sounds like a fantastic explanation of my car. Maybe Twins.

Was there a final solution. ?

Erin, we need to stick to your problem in your topic instead of cloud the issue by splitting it in two.
The odds of your problem being related to this one are actually quite slim.
