OnStar Antenna.. able to use as CB Antenna?

No. It's designed for cell signals, not CB. Plus it's probably not long enough. Who uses CB anymore...

I don't care if it's long enough or not.. just wondering if the end of it would screw into a cb...

With the right adapter I'm sure you could, I think its just a standard BNC antenna connection.

The wavelength for CB band is almost 40 feet long. Antennas usually come in 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8 wavelengths. The 1/4 is the common big one you see on trucks. An antenna as small as the OnStar one won't work very well, even if you connected it.

like i said... it doesn't matter how big the antenna is or if it will work well.. i just need to know if it will screw into a cb.. period.

No, you'd need some kind of adapter.

After being involved with a Tacoma forum I found that all of the off road guys and gals have a CB set up in the truck.

I also found that it cost a lot more to go slow and over rocks than it does to go fast in a 1/4 mile. :eek2:

I used to run one when I was traveling every weekend from Fort Benning, GA to Tampa, FL. I used it to try and get a heads up on speed traps etc. :)

You should be able to find a very cheap adapter that goes from BNC to whatever the CB connection is, probably $10 or so. Also, you can replace the OnStar whip with a CB whip available at RadioShack very easily. They make through-the-glass CB antennas that use the same screw-in portion as the OnStar whip - it's as simple as unscrewing/screwing lol.

My brother is 18 and has a CB radio in both of his two cars, a 92 Camaro and an 2000 Intrepid.
