Well this is a Interesting little rant on Bonnevilles....

Chat about all things Bonneville (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the lounge, and all mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Yea, it seems that a few people have had more than the normal share of issues. The sad thing is that they are paying premium repair costs for everything (SC as much as a new engine?). If they would have stopped here first most of them would be minor issues. Many of the items are also common problems on ALL CARS, not just Bonnevilles.

Thats why I work on my own vehicles and not take it to the dealer to get butt plugged.

Most of the people on there seem like morons. I know the bonnes have their issues, but anyone who pays the amount of money some of those people claimed they did is just getting bent over by their mechanics. Everything on there should be takin with a grain of salt.

I love how people trash talk a used Bonne like its Pontiac's fault the previous owner beat the piss out of it and had a bratty child that f*cked with the windows all time. LOL I have had mine for almost a year as a daily driver. Took it to a car cruise where I did lots of burnouts and took it to the drag strip blasting mustangs outta the water :booty2: . It was owned by the county attorney and kept in his airplane hanger and the only problems I have had is the super charger idler pulley melted the fins around the bearings.. and now the vac line issue.. The only real complaint I have had is why the f*ck would you use plastic pulleys on an engine are you really that cheap??

The one I believe you are talking about is the guy with his girls car and all he had to do is replace the $30 coupler and the SC woulda been fixed! I can't tell you how many stories I have read where ppl take car to shop or dealer and they want to replace the whole SC cuz they just wanna fist your rear for money when all you need is a cheap part and a torque wrench and 15min
