Yes, I did it. I got the 05 SLE. The sales manager called me the last day of the month, telling me that he had sold 39 cars for the month and he needed to sell 40. I have been knowing this guy for a long time so he is really honest with me. He told me, if I did not take his deal this time, I was crazy. When he gave me the final price, I had to go for it. With him quoting me from the beginning a retail price that was wrong, $2,000 below their asking price, and he honored it, and with the trade that he gave me, I ended getting $6,200 for my 97 SSEi, from their asking price. Plus, I kept my rims from the 97 SSEi and that will be money in my pocket also, once I figure out how much to sell them for. This car has 43,000 miles on it and it is like brand new. The 97 had 107, 000 miles on it and it needed shocks, it still had a slight vibration, and it was really wet under the engine with oil. Even after the money that I had put into it, I got my money back plus more!!! The 05 had the 00+ Bonneville vibration, so I thought. One of the tires had 25lbs. in it so I checked the rest of them. They had 30. I pumped them all up to 35lbs. and the car now rides smooth as silk

So far, I do not miss the 97 because this 05 rocks!!!! I love it!!!!! Also, the interior is like new and the chrome wheels are also

Now my debate is whether to put on chrome tips and louder mufflers

retail was $12,000, I got it for $5,800, that included taxes, title transfer, and processing fees.

Chrome tips, yes. Loud muffler, no. But I know a magnaflow muffler would sound really good. Louder than stock, but not ridiculous unless you stomp on it.

Not the biggest fan of the color, but hey it's not my car right? Still think it looks great though. And nice deal!

i would do the tips, i wouldnt do the muffler

i drive my GXP all the time, the second i wanna *go fast* i take my brother's heavily modded S/C GP.. the second i start it i know how blessed i am with a quiet car... mufflers are nice, but i learned my lesson after i sold my GP and bought my GXP

yes Eric, we have twins, but yours has the sunroof that I wanted, but I have read some horror stories on here about how they leak so I guess I can live without it

I have not seen any 05 around here yet. the other day, when i was at the red light, a guy turned around staring at mine, as he was going through the light. made me feel good!

6200 for your ssei???? wowwwww I would have went for it too. not that it wasn't a really pretty car, I just didn't think a dealer would offer that much for a bonneville of that year. amazing deal and nice car, congratulations!

I tend to get many looks to, and with mine being debadged, people only know its a Pontiac. Im always telling them its a Bonneville and then the guessing game on the year begins!

$6200 for a 97 is a helluva deal! my 04 gxp on trade in with only 35k would probably get around 9k well now that its been in an accident and restored probably $2 and thats not a typo! lmao
