Blower Motor Connection

On my 01 Park Ave im having an intermittent problem with the blower motor I figured out that its a short in the wire from the Blower Module to the motor. I wiggled the wire around the connection (and the motor started right up). I just replaced the connector and the white wire a year ago because the connection was burned and the connector was all melted inside. I noticed on this connector that the inside seems ok but its got a little brown spot like its burning again on the outside near the white wire. This is a different blower motor than what was causing the burning last time. Any idea whats up? Someone suggested that the module can be causing trouble but that doesn't make too much sense.

generally speaking, current thru resistance can generate heat. since your have only noticed burning around or in the connector, an abnormally high resistance probably exists in that area. there are two possibilities that i can think of:

1. poor fit on the connector/blower motor pins and sockets.

2. bad connection where the wires meet the pins and sockets (usually poor crimp).

Well, the wire was replaced with one from the dealer a year ago. They gave us one because according to the dealer they replace these wires on occasion so they have precut lengths that GM gave them for this. It was a common problem on Suburbans and some chevy trucks. I called that dealer again today, he doesn't have anymore. According to him he suggests replacing the wires and the connector. Unfortunately, on that car it requires replacing the module which costs $140, im hoping theres an alternative.

i don't have access to your model vehicle. if you can supply pictures of what wire they are referring to, maybe we can help. am also unknowledgeable of the module they are referring to that would have to be replaced. would like to help but my model is 96 and is apparently alot different.

in other words, if it is just a piece of wire you need i can mail you one but i assume it is not that simple.
