Re: WCBF10 July 20 - 25
Awards for WCBF 2010, 7th Annual Meet:
Using PontiacDad's slicks as center stage, awards were presented by myfirstbonnie and willwren. The awards were presented at ZillaMotorsports for the first time, taking advantage of indoor air conditioning and a patio cooling system of unique design. A Prelude of pizza, paid for in large part with boss455's track winner's purse (for his second-place run in Sportsman class against the big dogs), the whole night was a great success.
Best Interior - BoiseGTP (Keven) 2002 SSEi
Best Exterior - BoiseGTP (Keven) 2002 SSEi
Best Performance Mods - myfirstbonnie (Matt) and Wendy 2000 SSEi
Best Wheels - driverjohn2005 (John) 1992 SSEi
Most Unique Car - 2000CadillacSTS (Matt) Nissan Maxima (used maxi-pad)
Best Engine - boss455 (Ray) Regal GS (this fine machine took him deep into competition at Woodburn)
Best non-bonneville - 2000SilverBullet (Paul) and Laura - 6.6 Liter gas-hog Firebird in factory condition
Most improved car - VBCSpangler (Jordan) Camaro
Best Exhaust - myfirstbonnie (Matt) and Wendy 2000 SSEi
Best Audio - willwren (Bill) 1993 SSEi

Best Co-Pilot - Anjelica (co-pilot for boss455)
Bonneville Adversity Award - myfirstbonnie (Matt) and Wendy for the motor loss in the 2k SSEi
MVP award - Lisa, the hostess with the mostest
Bonneville Personality - driverjohn2005 (John) the THIRD time he's won this coveted award that I can recall without research
Pit Crew Award - boss455 (Ray), Laura SilverBullet/Bernardo, Katie Wren, driverjohn2005 (John)
Best Pit Crew - 2000CadillacSTS (Matt) BY DRIVER VOTE FOR THE FIRST YEAR ON THIS AWARD
Best Burnout - willwren (Bill) 1993 SSEi (in spite of the second burnout almost ending up in the retaining wall)

Best Reaction Time - 2000SilverBullet (Paul), .001, .004, -.001!

Best ET - boss455 (Ray)
Best In-Class ET - 2000SilverBullet (Paul) Firebird

Woodburn Dragstrip 2nd Place Plaque for Bonneville/Grand Prix Class - BoiseGTP (Keven) narrow margin of loss in the final grudge round to GP
Woodburn Dragstrip 2nd Place Plaque for Sportsman Class - boss455 (Ray) - Ray quite simply RAPED the field all day
WCBF travelling bracket racing trophy - BoiseGTP (Keven), presented by 2000SilverBullet, who was the first winner of the trophy in 2004. This same trophy is added to each year. Bugsi was unable to pass it on by tradition, so we chose what seemed the most appropriate presentation method. Keven won this trophy in the class final against 2000SilverBullet in a hard-fought round. This was no 'gimme'.
Survivor Awards - There were enough for every attendee, members and non-members alike. They were laser engraved this year on very thin high-strength optical-quality glass, and are VERY nice. Perhaps the best ever. This award has been given to all since the first meet in 2004.

Looks like I missed all the fun this year.. Bummer, the is the third time I've missed.
Sorry about your motor Matt.
Congrats Kevin, did Kevin win this in his Bonneville or the GP?
I'd love to see the numbers.. you know, actual 60' times and ET's
With a little better planning maybe I can ake it next year, I wanted to this year but my schedule got messed up with PDX-BSB and WCBF having different dates and my wife spending weeks in Oregon, that really messed with my vacation planning... Honestly I'm still ticked about it.
Next year..

Keven won it in the 2002 SSEi. About half the crowd is on the road for home now, so numbers should be up in the track results topic in On the road and at the track in the next couple days. I'll try to get some more pics up later today in the Your Ride topic. Looking forward to seeing you again next year!
Clint and I put some thoughts into motion before we left the track. Next year is intended to be the best combined meet yet, with nothing standing in our way or splitting it up. The commitment is made.

Re: WCBF10 July 20 - 25 AWARDS ON PAGE 12!
John and MaxiMatt made it home already.
Ray, Keven, and Anjelica left this morning for ID.
Jordan just left for Portland.
Matt and Wendy are still here, as are Paul and Laura. They'll spend the morning looking for a master cylinder for the firebird, loading my hoist and engine stand into the back of the matt/wendy suburban, and renting a dolly to tow the 2k back to portland. The plan now is to fix it at his house, but with my hoist and stand.

Re: WCBF10 July 20 - 25 AWARDS ON PAGE 12!
Got the 2k up on the dolly and hitched. Worked on the Firebird brakes. New MC gained us front brakes again, but the rears wouldn't even bleed. Fronts bled milky water/fluid mix.
Paul and Laura are in the bird with a tricked ebrake (won't ratchet) for the rear, and good front brakes, following Matt, Wendy, the girls, and the 2k in tow, heading to a specialty shop on the way out of town for a proportioning valve. They MAY change it at Matt and Wendy's place on the way north, or when they get home.
These are the only members not home yet.

Tried to come to the awards, but circumstances kept me from going down that way with the car breaking. Guess maybe next time.

Re: WCBF10 July 20 - 25 AWARDS ON PAGE 12!
The Rubber Chicken has made it home safely and the dolly returned to U-Haul. We had a lunch / dinner with Paul and Laura at Fudrucker's and they headed on up to Seattle. They are staying there for the night and heading home tomorrow.
On a side note, if you ever have to tow your Bonneville and don't want to use the full trailer, tell them you are towing a Regal. It is not a weight limit, but a width issue. The Bonneville fit with a slight overhang of the wheels, but their system would not let them rent me a dolly for a Bonneville.
We had a great time and would like to thank all for their attendance and support.
Countdown 359 days!

Paul and Laura (via text) are safe in Bellingham.
Numbers on my car, per tradition, won't be washed off until that last car is home safe.

Re: WCBF10 July 20 - 25 AWARDS ON PAGE 12!
It was a 6 hour leg busting, white knuckle ride from Portland to Bellingham. Laura screamed many times and left pucker marks and nail marks all over my Bird as we slewed to a stop inches from back bumpers in a cloud of blue smoke!
I have a few flat spots on the rear tires from a few hairy haul downs from very high speeds driving up to massive traffic slow downs in Portland, Tacoma and Seattle. I had to simultaneously gear down, work the hard brake pedal and the parking brake with both feet pushing with all my might. No power assist at all. It was like manual brakes.
The tricked out carb secondary lock out lever worked its magic and I owned the road, literally. What a fun ride. I owned another BMW X5 at 120.
We're both exhausted now.
I bought the rear brake adjustable proportional valve and check valve from a old pops garage. Man he was slow. Took an hour and a half and all he did was bleed the rear brakes and talk about his bursitus. I had to jack up the car and pump the brake pedal and refill the reserviour.
......and pay a $100 for the priviledge.
Thanks to LottaMatt, Wendy, Cathy and Courtney for all their patience while they waited idling off the highway till I returned.
I had another great Buffalo burger at Fudpuckers.
Time now to celebrate by cracking another bottle of Napa wine!
It's the only drink we have that's good to drink warm. Man it was a hot dirty drive with the windows open the whole time. Shower first!
Last leg of the journey home tomorrow as we cross the border and catch two Ferries back home. Yaaaaaaa.......the famous Peninsula run. An hour of twisties and passing delights between Ferry runs.
It will be fun with only 40% brakes.
Many thanks again to all who showed up for the Meet for putting up with my crazed antics and multiple fixes, and of course to Bill Lisa and Katie, Tyler & Kyle for all their hospitality and making us feel completely at home. Definitely Family!

Re: WCBF10 July 20 - 25 AWARDS ON PAGE 12!
Just a few words I want to say....
Last year was kind of an awkward WCBF (in my opinion)... It made me hesitant for what this year had in store and whether or not it was going to be worth my time to show; but I tried to put that aside and commit to another year. And what do ya know....
... it trumped last years meet completly. What a great meet everyone! I really felt the spirit of the club this year and made me feel really proud and honored to be apart of such an amazing club! On the drive home; compared to last year; I really felt excited already for next year's WCBF!
I would just like to thank everyone who participated and put their heart into making this; once again, an AMAZING WCBF! Come hell or high water I will see you all next summer at WCBF 2011!
