They make an adapter for that buffer, with a threaded backing plate with velcro, that you velcro other pads onto.

Additionally, they make one that has little microfiber "booties" for buffing, which makes the whole waxing and buffing job 10x easier. They stretch over a soft cover.

I'll have to look in the garage and see if I can get any more info.

If you are around Thursday I'm hoping to stop by and see the Mezerna/Porter Cable job on my way to Moondance. Will probably be early/midday Thursday. Will call you before I leave Sauk.
I'm toying with the idea of buying that kit, but I am also tempted to get some Wolfgang Fuzion Carnauba Polymer Estate wax for the final protective coat.
My biggest personal priority for detailing is to get dads 53 Chrysler ready to motivate him to take it to it's first car show (St. Cloud, August 15th) in almost 4 years.

Well I spent all day today finishing up the polishing. After I got the passenger side done, I did the front bumper, rear bumper, and then door moldings. After the polishing, I applied a coat of Gold Class wax with the polisher... much easier than by hand. The finish looks absolutely amazing. I think I will end up painting the hood so the car will be truely MINT.

Sounds like Andrew needs to start up a side business from his landlords shop. I bet there is enough money in that for you to make a living off of the way you're going.

..So what do you charge to do a pickup? Is there a 2 car discount?

I think its funny when you guys say I should start a business because I could make a living doing this. What do you think I have been doing for the last 2.5 years!? LOL.

I think the price all depends on the condition of the paint. I have about about 16 hours tied up into this 2000, but it was pretty horrible. I'd say $20/hr is a fair price. No 2-car discount though ;)

By business you need a "company" name, business cards, mailing addy (even if it is your home) and all that good stuff. You can start writing off part of your rent and other expenses as business/job expenses as well.

HarosAutoRestoration.com is available ;)

Very true Andrew. That's why I started my business. I can write off so many things against the business it paid for accountant and lawyer yearly fees in one month.
Set up a home office/shop, a defined area in your house. If the room/shop area is say 25% of the size of your house, you can write off 25% of all costs associated with your house, heating, phone, elect, insurance, mortgage and taxes included. Plus you can write off 100% of all tools and supplies associated with the business. Of course you have to account for your sales but if you do business in cash only, you can be creative since there will be no paper trail.

16 hours at $20/hr = $320 I'd hit that! That's how much it cost me to have my rear bumper repainted to fix a fist sized bang. Well worth it.
