Stuck in defrost

Stuck in defrost
I had my air set to defrost this morning, and now it is stuck. When I turn the control knob to any different setting it stays in defrost mode. I'm also still working on that problem with the fan speed controls. I haven't figured out why I only have the two middle fan speeds. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not real up on your year, but check for a broken or disconnected vacuum hose that I believe is near (or along side) the passenger fender under the hood for the defrost only problem.
