What if you just post a basic ad, with the craigslist special 4 pictures? Don't try and sell the car, just post it. Do the ads still get flagged down?

I think he is just posting a link to his site at this point since a full re-listing is too much work only to get flagged.

*EDIT: Beat me to it. Unbelievable that this car isn't selling at that price. I'm not a fan of those cars, but that is an awesome price for a car that is that clean and should prove to be very reliable. Tough to beat for a daily. I don't know what your financial position is right now, but I'd be tempted to hold out for my price if I were you. That is a steal for the right person.

I think I figured out why it hasn't be selling. Several people have test drove it, but all of them seemed disappointed after the test drive, and came up with lame excuses like they needed to keep looking. Today another guy drove it and said the same thing. After he left, I was just dumbfounded why its not selling and was tempted to drop the price again. I decided to take the car for a drive myself and pretend that I was looking at buying the car, looking for all the ways to knock it down. I got the highway up to speed and was cruising along just fine. The steering is tight, and it pulls nice and straight. I was ready to give up, until I hit the brakes. One of the worse warped rotors problems I have felt. Problem solved. I called the guy back that had just test drove it and questioned him about what he didn't like about the car. He immediately said the brakes. I told him I just noticed the same thing. They were not like that the last time I drove it, so one of the "test drivers" must have warped them or something. I told the guy I was going to put new brakes on it, and that he could come look at it again after I was done. So I just dropped $170 on all new pads and rotors. I'll be putting them on tomorrow, and then I have another new guy interested in looking at it on Tuesday.

You would think they would tell you. I would, something like, "Well, the brakes are warped, so I would have to fix that," and try to get $2-300 out of you for it.

Actually it was only $400.

Just got done with the brakes. They were worse than I thought, maybe I should have done a more thorough inspection when I had it on the lift. The face of the rotors weren't that bad, but the backs were. Surprisingly, the slides were well greased and moved freely.

New brakes on...and did the special break in procedure...

Also replaced the front trans mount since the engine was flopping

I'm also going to look into having that quarter panel dent removed with some PDR. New bottom dollar is $3k now.

No, go back to page 1 and you will see what Andrew has done to this car. He bought it, repaired it and is now selling it. The other guy did not want to buy it because the brakes were bad.

Sold. Finally!

Young kid whose grandpa lives right in our backyard bought it. Paid cash this morning. They worked me down to $2700, but I wasn't about to let that go considering how hard this one has been to sell.

I paid $400 for the car, and basically put in a free engine (after I parted out the rest of the Regal it came from), anything over ~$500 is profit... so $2200 profit. I would have loved to get $3800 out of it like it books, but the PA market is down it looks like. Probably won't be getting one of them for a while.

Congrats man. Let's hope the Bonneville sells easier for you. I'm sure it will with that detail you're giving it. It's hard to walk away from car that looks that good.

I was only able to get $2,800 out of my PAU last year. Granted that was a 98, but it only had 95K. PAUs just aren't in high demand.

Hey good to hear you sold it. Dad had stopped and looked the car over Sunday when he and mom were on a road trip up north. He said just from looking at it, for the miles the only thing he could see that was negative (but he said it balanced out from how good of shape everything else was in) was the dent in the rr, which he said wasn't extremely bad.
I'm sure the new owner will be more than happy with their $2700 being well spent -you had that car set to go for another 40-50k before it should need any more maintenance (aside from oil and maybe tires).

**blows off dust**

Ahhh, the joys of selling locally in a small town.

The grandpa just came over and told me that the engine blew up. Ugh! They are willing to pay for a different engine, but want me to put it in. This car was sold 9 months ago. Normally I would say, tough luck... but this guy is a friend of Mel's (whose shop I use). I have to keep my local image good, so I agreed to put the engine in for them free of charge. Won't be for a few weeks though, I'm swamped with school and all the other cars I have.

That sucks, you're a good man though for putting it in for free. I know most probably would not. I do think it is unfair that they want (or expect?) you to do it though, especially after 9 months.
