problems arise 3 months after purchasing
hey hows it going everyone my 2000 sle has a really bad wobble or shimmy between 45 and 55, really bad uphills alignments good but i took it somewhere and they said my torque conv. is going out and that whats causing this issue. all of my windows wont go down or up you can hear them moving but glass is stationary.the headliner is coming off , left fog is out ...the previous owner said the put a new motor in it but didn't replace tranny and it has 185k miles on it i would like to fix theses issues so i can mod it , give some more horses and beef it up a bit but i know nothing about this car anyone in the central florida area or is there anyone that can help me??

Ouch, Skip...
hey hows it going every my 2000 sle has a really bad wobble or shimmy between 45 and 55 really bad uphills alighnments good but i took it somewhere the said my torque conv. is going out and that whats cuasing this isssue anyone know anything
Is it a wobble that come through the steering wheel or is it a bad shudder that can change depending on how you are pushing the gas?
all of my window wont go down or up you can hear them moving but glass is stationary
Sounds like broken window regulators.
the headliner is coming off
You can fix it by spraying adhesive into the areas that are sagging, but it tends to be a temporary fix until you recover the whole thing
left fog is out
Replace the bulb?

Re: problems arise 3 months after purchasing
So on my way to work this morning its start to shimmy .but not the normal it was horrible so i let off the gas an slowly pressed and my rpm needle was jumping up in down so i gave it a little more because it was angering me and it gave me the worst metal on metal sound i have ever heard i wonder how much time i have left with this car.

Re: problems arise 3 months after purchasing
If you put the shifter in lower gears, drive with normal throttle levels, and don't let it shift up until it gets quite a bit higher than normal revs, does the shimmy happen? Put it in 1 from a stop, don't go to 2 until 3500 rpm or so, and so on for higher gears.

I'm not super good at tranny diagnosis. Your symptoms are a little different than what I've come across.
Anyone else?

If you haven't yet, a good place to start would be to change the tranny fluid. Get a can of Seafoam's Trans Tune, and put that in first. Drive it for a day or two, then drop the pan and change the fluid and filter. Procedure is in techinfo if you need it.
Include a bottle of Lucas Transfix when you refill it. See if it helps some. The fluctuating RPMs you're experiencing does point to the torque converter or TCC solenoid. This is a link to some of the more common problems.
