How to R&R a water pump?

Post by Bob N »

Does anyone have a procedure for replacing the water pump on a supercharged engine?
I have been looking through the site and haven't come up with one.
Looks like I'll be doing this over the wekend.

Thanks

Remove belt
Remove WP pulley
Remove bolts of the water pump
Clean up gasket area

then reverse the procedure

Cake walk, did mine in Feb.

Thanks, I haven't changed a water pump since some time in the '60's! :laughing3:
Pretty much figured there wasn't too much difficulty involved, but thought I would ask in case there was something unusual I should know.

If you haven't already bought the entire pump, have a look at this thread.

Thanks for the link Mark.
Actually I did the job this afternoon and it took me about 2 hours. Picked up a new pump at Pep Boys for $36.00. Most of my time was spent on the removal and cleaning the gasket surfaces. Went back together in nothing flat.
I found removing a couple of the pulleys made everything much easier to get at.
