transmission swap

Post by bonnie02rkt »

Hey guys im getting a used transmission from the salvage yard; my 165k mile trans finall decided to give out! So i would like some recomendations on upgradeable parts to install prior to installation! Ive heard about the hardened 4thgear hub or somthing like that so if any one had details I would appreciate it, and is it possible to install the hd tranny to the L36 engine; if so what would be required? Im ready for another big project me and my budds can do so nows a good time any extra advice is greatly appreciated of corse! THANKS A BUNCH

Either get a rebuild with upgraded parts, or just install a stock used one. Don't install upgraded parts in a good used one, that doesn't make sense.

What do you need an HD tranny or upgraded parts for anyways? Just a stock L36 right?

You should put a shift kit in though. Thats easy though.

Even a mildly modified L36 will not need a -HD trans.

I agree with the shift kit. Either get the Intense Shift Kit, or the TransGo shift kit, which was stocked by Intense, but I don't see it on their site.
