Smell from exhaust pipes
Hey guys, currently experiecing some smell coming out of exhaust. Smells like something burnt on stove. This is on a 2005 SLE. Any suggestions? Is it the cat? Have 45k miles on it.

Do you have a engine light on? Any unusual oil loss? Anything changed recenntly, O2 sensor, MAF, TB cleaned etc?

Nothing changed, no light on or anything, just the smell of burned cookies...myfirstbonnie wrote:Do you have a engine light on? Any unusual oil loss? Anything changed recenntly, O2 sensor, MAF, TB cleaned etc?

Re: Smell from exhaust pipes
Usually the cat smells for a short time after being replaced. Make sure there is nothing caught under the car (grosery bag etc.) that may be caught up on the exhaust. Check over the back of the engine and make sure nothing is touching the rear manifold (although you would expect to smell it in the cabin if there was).

The exhaust pipes smoke for a for a few seconds after turing off the engine. That's were the smell comes from-this inside of the exhaustmyfirstbonnie wrote:Usually the cat smells for a short time after being replaced.
