Spring MN meet?
I'm getting antsy for spring already. Any ideas on planning a spring meet? I was thinking the lower garden parking lot in St Cloud, same as last time.
Maybe we can fill the lot up this time.
Any ideas on dates or places chime in.
Let's make it big

Re: Spring MN meet?
Last year we had the meet here, at my place. Too many meets just wear people out. Instead of having a ton of little meets, I'd rather have a few bigger, nicer ones.

I'm just tossing ideas out.
I was just thinking something central for the guys up Andrew and Marty's way and the guys down Ryan's way
I suppose your place is big enough for a good size meet

Ed's place was great, even for the drive.
I'm game for pretty much anything. The St. Cloud meet was pretty successful and wouldn't mind doing that again.

I would not mind having a meet now that my car should be back on the road here in a couple weeks.

Re: Spring MN meet?
If someone wants to have one, I'm game once it warms up, but I just know it's a lot of driving, etc to have a lot of meets. Rather have 3 bigger meets a year than 6 little ones.

We should just have a spring, summer, and fall meet. Possibly a cruise is in order as well for one of the meets?

Re: Spring MN meet?
Um, for 99.9% of the meets I've been to consisted of a 100+ mile 'Cruise' to and another 100+ mile 'cruise' home.
Personally would rather meet, eat, have a brew and maybe tinker abit.

Re: Spring MN meet?
I can do 1-2 meets a year, within a reasonable distance from the downtown MPLS area (say 2 hours or less). With 2 young kids and stuff, anything more than that isn't likely.

That's not really that far to some though.olblueeyesbonne wrote:Um, for 99.9% of the meets I've been to consisted of a 100+ mile 'Cruise' to and another 100+ mile 'cruise' home.

Other car clubs that 100+ will be the cruise itself easily. When I went with the Saab guys, cruise started in Stillwater, went north then came back south to Hudson, which took about 2.5hrs in itself, plus the 2hr one way drive.
Minnesota sport compacts has a Duluth cruise twice a year that starts/ends in Minneapolis/St. Paul. It's a two day deal.
Just saying it may not be a bad idea to have a small cruise on some nice back roads. Just try to get it centralized for everyone.
Or just have a pure mod day.

Re: Spring MN meet?
I'm .... in.
Despite being out of a job my schedule is abit hectic.
I suppose life could be considered a job in itself.
As for location for the meet I really like St. Cloud or Minneapolis. It's a highway haul for most everyone and for anyone who lives 20+ miles out of a city with good food/shopping it will allow for a more successful meet.
I really like the Munsinger Gardens location, but it'd be nice if everyone could schedule their day around a 2 hr window where everyone could be there at once, vs some in the a.m., some in the afternoon... I understand there can be circumstances that don't allow everyone the same schedule.
I'd suggest a late March meet.
