Fuel line question
I am looking at a 95 SE that the people are selling as a parts car but it does run and drive and they are only down the street. The biggest issue with me is the fact that one of the plastic fuel lines is cracked by the intake. How do you repair these lines? It looks like it goes into the firewall? Is there a way to fix without replacing these? Thanks.

Re: Fuel line question
I believe it goes down and connects to a metal line they should be easy to replace they are quick disconnect. i swapped an engine on a 95 SE. Alot of 95 L36 stuff is unique because it is OBD1.5

Re: Fuel line question
There are special fuel line repair kits for that style, IIRC. You can get them at parts stores.

Re: Fuel line question
in a pinch, take a piece of fuel hose and slit/tie wrap it.

Thanks all for the help. I will check the auto parts store and see if they have a repair kit.

Re: Fuel line question
The entire repair kit is very cost-prohibitive. Trust me. What I ended up doing to mine was I got rid of all the hard plastic lines right to where they meet the metal lines (which will be right behind the passenger wheel well), fabbed up some steel lines, and used high-pressure rubber fuel line and injection clamps to connect everything together.
Now, there are replacement nylon fuel lines with the connector already in place, with a brass barb to splice the new line into the old nylon line. The only problem with these is that the factory nylon lines are double-walled, and have already shrunk to the point where they can't shrink anymore. Putting the barb on the new line is easy...just heat it with a heat gun, and insert with some brute force. Putting the barb on the existing line...not nearly as easy. The proper repair job would be to run all new nylon line to the steel line, but that would involve having to take the steel line out of the car to make the union possible. No matter which way you go, it won't be as simple as it should be.

Re: Fuel line question
Hmmm, well I may just have to patch it and leave it to someone else. I am really only interested in the tires on the car for my 93. If I can get the car cheap enough then I would just resell it with the line needing to be fixed maybe even throw in the fix it kit. Thanks for the info.
