What to change when I do the waterpump...

What else to change when I do the waterpump and tensioner.

Might as well get as much stuff changed that has coolant running through it right? What else is there?

Double check your radiator hoses while it is empty. Sucks to have to refill your cooling system twice in a month and it is getting warmer (hopefully).

I changed the serpentine belt and the thermostat; got rid of the CoolDex – went to the green anti-freeze.

Good plan beyond the actual water pump: Belt, radiator hoses, heater hoses, plastic elbows between the manifold, timing cover, and accessory bracket casting. Radiator cap, thermostat, and the hose to the overflow tank.

In other words... if it is made of rubber, plastic, or is in the coolant and moves it should be looked at. You've got over 100k miles, you might as well check this stuff out while the coolant is out of the motor.

Your heater hoses come into the motor from the firewall side and connect to two nipples on the aluminum casting that supports the power steering pump & alternator. If you look just above the waterpump, you will see a black plastic elbow exiting that same casting and plugging into the intake manifold. That elbow carries coolant from the intake manifold to the accessory bracket on it's way to the heater core.

There's another connection behind the accessory bracket that connects to the timing cover...that one is carrying coolant from the heater core back to the waterpump.

If you remove that accessory bracket for any reason, have the kit of elbows (Dorman carries it and you should find it from any parts place) The elbows often crumble/break...they are just plastic that has been cooked by the motor.

Buy the Series 1 (1993) water pump and the pulley for it. Same diameter as yours, bolts right up, but has far superior cast impellers that will cool far more efficiently.

We put one on myfirstbonnie's 2k SSEi when we did his cam swap at my place a few months ago, and it did wonders for his summer coolant temps. You MUST use the S1 pulley for this to work, as the 'nose' of the S1 water pump is a different shap and size.

Ok but where do I get a S1 pulley from? (what is it called? Waterpump pulley or something else?)they don't have one listed on Autozone.com
