Michigan area meet, July 11th - 18th UPDATE 7-5 first post

just wanted to drop a FYI about the track....

Its going to be a blast, but stay home if you would be embarrassed a 5000lb truck shows ya how its done... j/k

for sure the track will be a good time. while I am not making it for the week, I am making it saturday and wednesday. I have my vacation in for track day. I will be able to give some pointers on racing to anyone who has never rolled to the tree. Im no pro, BUT I have been going to the track 5yrs now and have a LOT of passes in. I have helped friends cut up to 1/2 second off their ETs with tips and tricks. It will be a good time for sure. Cant wait to waste a few gallons of fuel and a few thousand miles of rubber.

ok sounds good. looks like i might not make it the 11th but i'll try my best. But Sunday i'll be there for sure ( wat time sunday will ya be there at Kensington?)

I'm uber excited down here!

It's highly unlikely but possible that both cars will make it. But the way we've been rolling on the L27 in the past week it looks like she'll be running soon, maybe weekend after next. We'll have to see if I can manage to break 'er in good by the time the meet comes along.

It's "highly unlikely" at this point... if I did come out...it would have to be Fri after work on the 10th and then I'd have to be back home for work Monday morning. I have a gig booked for the following Friday. Plus we are working OT on Sat's now (it's "not" mandatory...but... it "looks favorable if you support the mission")... the applications are pouring in for the Post 9/11 GI Bill (check it out if you're a veteran or service member http://www.gibill.va.gov )

I'm getting kinda nervous. Last weekend, my Buick was backed into in the grill/hood by a Jeep Liberty, and my headlights don't work anymore (I think corrosion's the culprit), and my Bonneville is not in a driveable state right now. I'm really hoping I can get at least one of them driveable by Thursday evening, but I've been doing 6+ hours of homework every night, so I've had no time.

I'm gonna get to this thing if I have to hitchhike my way, lol!! Oh, is me showing up Friday afternoon/evening going to cause any problems? I figure an early start would be less stressful for me getting there.

Showing up early on Friday the 10th is not a problem for anyone if they wish to do so. I work that Thursday night, but will be out of bed by noon, so anytime you want to show up is fine. As far as your headlights go, I am sure we could get them fixed up here if you can't get it down there

I will be reviewing the first post that contains all the information and making sure it is 100% correct so that nobody gets lost.

I figure we will leave the park at around 5 or 6 PM and head back to my house this way we are sure to get there with daylight still to spare.

wow looks like you guys/gals is going to have a fun time at this meet!!! If i would have found out about this meet earlier i could have planned to attend. But I have my vacation scheduled out already with 2 road trips up to SD by the end of this year.. So Maybe if you guys have this meet next year i'll be good to attend then... Can't wait to see pics of this huge meet...

I usually host this large meet once a year about this time, and sometimes have several mini meets as well throughout the rest of the year. With you being down south, you might want to check out the southern meet in Florida as well, great group down there for sure

I see. No problem with that, I just seen the pic with Kensington rd. exit and wanted to make sure you didn't think we were going to be at the park on Sunday
