AC problem

Post by billberry12 »

Once in a while my ac will stop blowing cool air for a short period of time. 5-10 minutes. If I turn it off and back on a few times, it starts eventually cooling again, and might go several days without a problem. It's very hot where I live, and I am wondering what I need to check on to prevent this turning in to a NO AC car.

In the winter, it will stop blowing warm air when I have the heat on the same way, then start back again. It is a manual control unit.

Any ideas on where to start?
Thanks,

My 98 did that. When in summer with the air on and I start climbing a hill, the AC will start blowing warm.. Eventually it blows cool again, sometimes not. I hated it., Don't know the cause. People here said it was because too much power to climb the hill and not enough left for AC

The airmix actuator could be going bad. when you say it stops blowing hot or cold air, i'm assuming it's still blowing some air, just not the right temperature?

Right. Still blows the same. Just air temp change.
